What a POS you must be to hear this news and attempt an " I told you I was right"
Wow.
Wj has over three thousands students so it is more likely to happen there than other places. .

I am impressed the student who saw it showed leadership and responsibility and reported it. I can think of a few schools where that part wouldn't have happened.

DP. I wouldn't do it, but since nothing bad happened, and there isn't even any evidence that anything bad was intended to happen, I don't think "W parents need to re-examine your false sense of security and superiority with respect to the DCC" is so inappropriate here.

My son knows the kid with the gun, they're in the same grade and have had a few classes together over the years.
From what he's heard, the boy who was caught was giving it to another kids who was being mercilessly bullied and harassed -- not that it makes it any better. I asked my son if this bullying was occurring at school or at home and he said at home, but again this is what's being said amongst the kids at school, so take it with a grain of salt.

W schools are Western, very white, and mostly wealthy. Zoned students often come from DCUM families that can’t afford prestige private schools and feel sensitive about how much they spent on their house. They have a vested interest in perpetuating the idea that W schools are superior to all others in MCPS and that the DCC is essentially any inner city high school in bad 1980s movies.

How was the other kid being bullied at home? By family members? It's bad if the other kid was planning to retaliate against the bullies.

I heard something similar and that the kid who was caught with the gun was thought of as a quiet and nice kid. If it's true, this quiet and nice kid has ruined his life because he had access to a weapon and made an extremely poor decision. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve consequences for his actions - he most certainly does - it's just a shame.

Juveniles do not ruin their lives. They are children and given a clean slate at 18.

He has certainly complicated his life, but he has not ruined it.

Why? I know someone who has several classes with him. Why do you need to see a photo? Are you interested to know his race and/or ethnicity? Seems like it.

Unless they plead this down to a misdemeanor he is pretty much screwed for college and jobs for a long while.
