Pride high school is a joke. Even the middle school programs are losing kids now. The ship is sinking.
How many of the current Capital recruits learned to play at Pride?

Who cares?!!!!! Nobody is taking that away from them. They should have never entered the high school market if they weren’t ready for the criticism. This was their choice, not the other way around.

Why so angry?

Not angry just get so annoyed with the whole "well those girls started at Pride you know" argument. I get it and that is fine and I am sure girls will shout out their younger years club teams regardless but the way some people get so upset that Capital has somehow taken these girls from Pride is just wrong on so many levels. Yet again I repeat, Pride was not always a high school program. They chose to compete with Capital. Capital never stole these girls from Pride.

I think you need to relax. It’s just girls lacrosse.

So touchy. Relax. Capital has proven to be great at showcasing players. Also ok to admit they didn't develop them.

Also its only your insecurity that suggests that Capital stole players. The story has been written a thousand times on this board. Steal is not one of the narratives. Everyone knows they left on their own (except maybe you). Breathe easy.

There are 117 D1 women’s lacrosse programs. It is most likely at least half of those schools are looking for goalies. There are still plenty of D1 schools looking to add goalies.

Such a Stone Ridge parent/coach reply. Apparently, you didn’t go to mass today. There are some really good people at Stone Ridge, sorry you are not one of them..

Just because one person believes one is a better player than the other means absolutely zero about who that player is off the field and I did’t see anyone disparage a person or say anyone was awful or sucked they just said they believed one was better than the other. How has this world become so sensitive…

You are talking openly about 16 year old girls who are already operating in the constant fish bowl of Instagram and other social media. Have some sensitivities to the girls and families. You are completely out of line commenting in this way. Absolutely no class.

This thread is a victory lap for commits and their proud parents, which is inherently insensitive to the girls and families not so blessed. For 18 pages we have talked about the top girls who are clearly better than everyone else, but an opinion on which of two of those great players is better somehow crosses the line of decency?

I suspect the goalies will each find a coach that thinks they are a better goalie and I hope it works out for them. A lot of teams look based on style/need, all of the best goalies don’t always go right away. Both are very strong. It doesn’t really matter what some message board troll thinks….

It’s actually a sign of how stupid college coaches often are. Many good players get offers before some great players. It’s so political and often based more on existing relationships and back scratching than true evaluation of one player v another. Both Cap Blue goalies are outstanding. Both should have gotten offers from Top D1 programs. Maybe one or both don’t want to play D1 or maybe the college programs that committed goalies so far this year just have morons for coaches.

I don't know what happened on this thread! Any who any updates on Skywalkers commits? That link that showed the different club commits over the year was interesting as I though Skywalkers would have had more.

Anonymous wrote:Is it possible to just go, yeah- amazing job girls. The commitment and dedication to even be at this level is so impressive. Being a committed D1 athlete, top 20 or top 100, is an honor very few girls get. And regardless of top 20 lax or not, they all need to get jobs. I am embarrassed as a parent and an adult that a young woman who has worked her butt off to get an offer to…let’s say Clemson, saw that adults had an opinion on her academic and lacrosse choice. I mean, it’s not a”good school”. Shame on you. And yes, the girls look at this site esp during lax season when parents do nothing but talk crap about their school, coach and sometimes players.

And for the record, Ivy's give plenty of $ to athletes. Yes, not athletic, but the academic money is there and you don’t have to have opened a school in Rwanda and have a 5.0GPA. So, money does flow.

Most ivys no longer give merit.

No athletic and no merit at Ivies.

^100,000% this.

This sounds like an extraordinarily challenging experience. Still a couple years away for our family, but I could feel, and relate to, the angst through the screen. Sending positive thoughts to all the players and families working through this time of uncertainty.
