Really said to see how SF style leadership has destroyed a once beautiful city that is falling into the pits of lawlessness and financial disaster. Mind-blowing how they can keep re-election the same over and over and over again when the results keep getting worse and worse and now and businesses are closing up shop and are fleeing. Why do so many other cities and voters continue to vote for politicians trying to run on a similar model like SF's politicians? It is scary how fast SF has declined.

Why do you care if you don't live there? I seriously don't care about the rural hellhole that most of the Republicans live in. You should do the same.

"the rural hellhole that most republicans live in" -- care to clarify with specifics this statement. Seems the cities where most Democrats/Liberals live fit this description.

The rural parts of this country, particularly in the south, tend to be the poorest, least educated, least healthy, and are the biggest takers in this country.

If nobody wants to live there anymore how come real estate is still $$$$$$$?When people did not want to live in Detroit anymore you could buy homes for $2000.

I think there is a lot of wealthy foreign & wealthy tech owners. Neither group is affected that much.

Real estate, the last bastion of "this is fine" is now under assault:

there are indeed a lot of wealthy people in CA. Amazing how wealthy people still want to live in such a sh1thole. But, these folks own mansions. They don't own the 1700sqft SFH, where even such homes can go for close to $2mil in some areas of CA. The amount of people + wealth in CA is what is putting the pressure on home prices, which is what is causing the exodus of a lot of people, us included.

I never thought I'd ever leave CA. Grew up there; lived there for 40 years, but the col was just too much even at $350K salary.

How many more companies and stores need to leave until officials there start to clean up the city???? Shame on the voters for electing these fools.

What do you care? You clearly don't live there. And California is a wealthy economy rather than one of those rural, shit hole states that do nothing buy take (WAY more than they give) from the taxpayers CONSTANTLY.

Given that people have to step over human feces when walking in San Francisco, your description of rural areas is misplaced.

It’s really weird how much this narrative shapes your mind. I’m a liberal who lives in DC. I live in NWDC and had to take my teenager to a community center in the heart of Southeast. In my 16 years of living in DC, I have never been to that area of SE. Given all the hellscape narratives the right keeps pushing, I expected tons of trash everywhere and homeless criminals. You know what I got? A sunny, clean neighborhood with families. I have no idea why the right keeps lying! They’re big fat liars who hate poor people.

Nordstroms also left SF citing safety reasons and crime.

Lol, but keep on raging about whataboutisms regarding rural parts of the country to try to deflect against really stupid outcomes of progressive ideas implemented in SF. What a S hole, both figuratively and literally.

Show me an example of the right talking about SE DC.

Well maybe not Tysons, but there are plans underway to redevelop Fair Oaks mall and reduce retail space to 20-25%. Malls have become an outdated concept and will look very different in 20 years. Downtown areas will look different as well in many areas.
