Also, note that he seems to be nodding in agreement with Elon Musk. So I guess California misses it's former position as the undisputed home of tech.

This is a very interesting and welcome development.

In retrospect, refusing to prosecute criminals and tolerating open air drug markets - first for heroin, now for fentanyl - were terrible approaches to urban life. Until that changes, two of the best cities in America are going to continue to spiral. There needs to be a tough on crime approach going forward. And the addicts need to be given a choice. Treatment or jail. But you can't live and use on the sidewalks anymore.

Unfortunately, I don't see anything changing.

The Bunny Colwin experiment without removing the dealers!

Incredible. I guess I'm most astounded at SF residents who continue voting for the same moronic politicians and policies. What a bunch of utter idiots.

This is the key! Published reports show crime is up in blue cities a paltry 10% or 15%, & everyone thinks the GOP is overreacting to the effects of no-cash bail, social justice prosecutors, & other leftist policies. But they are only reporting a FRACTION of the actual crimes. They are trying to downplay how horrible it is so they can claim their policies are a success & should be adopted elsewhere. And that their governor (Newsom) should be your president.

Even in far-left Oakland CA the residents are begging for a return to old-fashioned law enforcement.

You just can't make this up. Watch the interview with this reporter. It is insane.

This might be the most San Francisco story I’ve ever heard in my entire life

A convicted child molester set up a tent across from a SF school offering “free fentanyl for new users”

He has been doing this for 2 years

SFPD Captain Chris Canning: "I was told he is in compliance with all the components of what his sex registration are."

Seems like he’s providing a service to people curious about fentanyl. The city should consider giving him an award

I’m sure the good people of SF will come up with a suitable award and have a child present it. This reads like an onion article but idk any more 🤷‍♀️

A parent at Stella Maris basically punched the homeless guy (rightfully so in my opinion), police were called and they finally removed him. Apparently his sex offender status wasn’t high enough for him to be in violation of being next to a school. Very scary.

Why would people call the police when they know the criminals won’t be prosecuted? As someone who has lived a the city for 25 years, I can honestly say crime is much worse. Our once quiet neighborhood has car break ins almost nightly. No one reports. Until it escalates to car stolen or someone is carjacked, no one reports. Retail thefts may not be reported to police routinely, but watch how many stores are closing in the city: they wouldn’t be doing that if if were business as usual. They do that because they can’t afford all the loss to shoplifting.

It took a visit from the leader of China. Wonder how long it will stay like this after he leaves.
