I think the problem here is that our language for classifying people has broken down. Twenty years ago, you would have been a Bob Dole Republican, or maybe a Blue Dog Democrat. Now, you're either a troubled Joe Manchin Democrat or a Larry Hogan Republican who's been shafted by the Republicans. Or (based on the "not waging silly wars") a well-meaning Larry Hogan Republican who's somehow been led down a bad path by Putin's trolls. |
I could not do it.
Don’t respect what they value. How they sell out principles, to pay less taxes for example. If he has ever voted for Donald Trump, that would be a hard no for me. Would you be proud to introduce him to your friends? Could you agree on what to teach children? |
∆ NEVER date someone who wants to pay less in taxes! ![]() |
I know you are trying to be over the top but this is just nonsense. All of our values align. All of us. We have small -- very small differences. Left hated W foreign policy --- Obama continued it just said nicer things. Immigration -- hate Trump - he is an idiot but Biden immigration policies are headed in the same direction with nicer words. The political process will sort our abortion and most of our others issues. It is just odd that you would not date half the country. |
Taxes are way way too high. And I am a democrat. We might win elections if we stopped raising taxes. -- Do not fool yourself that Biden won. Trump lost. Barely. |
What corrupt banking action did Bush take? |
+1 I am conservative but very pro-choice |
What was he up to 1/6/21? Does he make fun of people who drive EVs? Is he someone who feels straight white men are misunderstood victims? |
NP my conservative H was a former Capitol police officer so he sad watching in utter disbelief that the bathroom guard had not been called. He watch BLM protests and explained laws to my children describing every crime police were committing. He drives a hybrid. Conservative values believe everybody deserves dignity. Even white males. |
Omg National * guards |
Nope, he even voted for Trump. You will be surprise how many republicans are not against abortion. I would suggest you go out and meet people instead of listening what media tells you about Republicans. |
I don't like name calling, but a lot of conservatives had abortions. What they oppose is use of public funds for performing abortions. |
What was he up to 1/6/21? - We watched news on TV all day. Does he make fun of people who drive EVs? - Nothing that I am aware of. Our oldest child drives Tesla, I've never heard him making fun of it. He drove it occasionally. Is he someone who feels straight white men are misunderstood victims? -No, he never felt that way. He is very confident. I don't know why are you assuming that we are white. |
But he will continue to vote for anti-abortion politicians because MAGA! right? I know what Rs are like. I used to be one and was surrounded by them. MAGA care more about things like taxes and border walls and sticking it to the libs, not about women's rights. The conservatives I know who couldn't stand Trump left the R party. You really think your DH would be supportive of his wife being a progressive and working on gender equality issues? LOL. You are the one confused about what it means to be conservative. |
then why do they support politicians who have backed over turning abortion in the red states? And yes, a lot of conservatives have abortions but still vote for politicians who support anti-abortion laws. Such people would go to a blue state to get an abortion if they had to, but will continue supporting anti-abortion politicians. What's the word.. hypocrites? No, I know, let's call them..."people who secretly are thankful to Dems for supporting abortion in their states but publicly deny being thankful to Dems". That's called two-faced, I think. Conservatives only want abortion when it suits them and run to blue states to get them, but don't want to support women's rights. |
