Free market: but not monopolies - no bankers should have ever been paid out under Obama

Fiscal responsibility: both trump and Obama sucked at this

Strong defense: not waging silly wars for monetary reasons

I think the problem here is that our language for classifying people has broken down.

Twenty years ago, you would have been a Bob Dole Republican, or maybe a Blue Dog Democrat.

Now, you're either a troubled Joe Manchin Democrat or a Larry Hogan Republican who's been shafted by the Republicans. Or (based on the "not waging silly wars") a well-meaning Larry Hogan Republican who's somehow been led down a bad path by Putin's trolls.

You missed the idea that there are still some conservatives, even some who still call themselves Republicans, who abhor the GOP of today and what it's doing. Making broad-brush assumptions is a great way to annihilate any shots at getting those conservatives to work with liberals on fighting for abortion access.

NP my conservative H was a former Capitol police officer so he sad watching in utter disbelief that the bathroom guard had not been called.

He watch BLM protests and explained laws to my children describing every crime police were committing.

I know what Rs are like. I used to be one and was surrounded by them. MAGA care more about things like taxes and border walls and sticking it to the libs, not about women's rights. The conservatives I know who couldn't stand Trump left the R party.

And yes, a lot of conservatives have abortions but still vote for politicians who support anti-abortion laws. Such people would go to a blue state to get an abortion if they had to, but will continue supporting anti-abortion politicians.
