He said so on that documentary. He tried to make the younger son be competitive and play sports but he’s a layabout and Gisele told him to back off.

I doubt he actually said his son is a layabout. I remember reading about his comments. I think he was surprised his younger son did not love sports and that he was slow to understand that his children are individuals and have their own personalities and interests that may or may not align with their parents'. I trust that if his older son does want to play football at the college level that Tom will be getting him all the bells and whistles (i.e., Manning Passing Academy, private coaching and training) to prepare him for that. That said, I'm Team Gisele - she made a point of voicing her displeasure with the unretirement and if he doesn't retire next season, guessing she will file for divorce then. Hilarious that she had to explain to Tom that your children may not want to follow in your footsteps.

Here are the comments and yeah, you really have to “read between the lines” to see “what a loser layabout my kid is! I’m so disappointed!” My guess is PP feels that way about one of her own kids and that made it a lot easier to project onto Tom, who seems to be recounting a moment of realization in his life. I also love how other PPs seem so shocked that Tom might have trouble understanding why his kid doesn’t share his interests, as if there aren’t plenty of posters here constantly projecting their hopes and dreams on their own kids.

I’m really torn here - I agree with Gisele and think Tom should hang it up while he’s on top. But, her behavior is super diva-ish. Is she this way all the time? Is he? Maybe they are both terrible people and I actually don’t really care about their spat.

It’s pretty clear TB backed out of an agreement with his wife. She took a 10+ year break in her career to raise his family.

He retires….then backs out of it after 2 months. She’s allowed to be pissed off.

I am a long time member at a Patriots board and I read an interesting anecdote the other day. Apparently one of the members had a friend who works at a high school in the Miami area and Jack Brady, Brady’s first son with his ex, was down for a tour a while back. He was accompanied not by Tom or Bridget, but Gisele, his stepmom. He said they were very down to earth. She has really walked the walk as a parent and as a stepparent. I have always been on her side in this one. I was the biggest football fan ever for the longest time but as the years have rolled on it has really soured for me as I’ve seen what’s become of players I used to follow avidly.

Was she really sitting at home mopping the kitchen floors? It looks she was plenty busy with work. She must be more annoyed with the lack of family time.
