He said so on that documentary. He tried to make the younger son be competitive and play sports but he’s a layabout and Gisele told him to back off. |
I mean, lol. He’s like 12. Did Tom call him a layabout? He probably shared that story to indicate how his kids are different from him. Doesn’t mean he thinks he’s a loser layabout. |
I’m so glad the public doesn’t discuss my fights with my husband! |
+1. As much as I dislike both of them individually, I don’t wish unhappiness or divorce on anyone so I would like to think that deep down, they both want to be together and save their marriage, and Tom has realized he made a colossal error here that he’s going to remedy as soon as he can. Realistically he can’t quit this season now, but he can retire again after this season and the whole family can move to LA together (or wherever Fox NFL Sunday broadcasts from) and have more of a life together. |
The story was that he was yelling at the kid and telling him to “be a man” and develop some competitiveness and interest in athletics. Gisele said leave him be, he’s not you, accept he’s different sort of thing. You can read between the lines that it’s not an ideal son, to him. |
A super star guy obsessed with youth is probably going to have a challenging time with a near menopausal washed up model. The old bag on his arm makes him look old. Iconic athletic peers:
Tiger Woods… divorced, younger girlfriends. Michael Jordan… divorced, young wife. Alex Rodriguez… divorced, JLo, young girlfriend. David Beckham… still married to Posh. Wayne Gretzky… still married to Janet. Could go either way, I suppose. |
+1 seriously!! |
+100 |
They’re both obsessed with youth. Newsflash. |
Which documentary? Tom vs. Time? Man in the Arena? |
+1. He's "unretired" twice (or is it three times?) now. He looks foolish with the waffling. And the risk of debilitating injury only goes up over time. Plus, I don't think being an NFL player is something you do alone when you have a family. It's expected that your spouse and kids are going to show up for games, events, etc. |
No, he has not. I don’t know what alternative universe you’re living in but lay off the sauce. He’s retired and unretired exactly once. |
I doubt he actually said his son is a layabout. I remember reading about his comments. I think he was surprised his younger son did not love sports and that he was slow to understand that his children are individuals and have their own personalities and interests that may or may not align with their parents'. I trust that if his older son does want to play football at the college level that Tom will be getting him all the bells and whistles (i.e., Manning Passing Academy, private coaching and training) to prepare him for that. That said, I'm Team Gisele - she made a point of voicing her displeasure with the unretirement and if he doesn't retire next season, guessing she will file for divorce then. Hilarious that she had to explain to Tom that your children may not want to follow in your footsteps. |
Well, this was certainly a way to campaign for your point of view in a marriage:

Did you see her on the cover of Elle? She is hardly washed up and I’d be happy to look like that |
