Mixed Nuts is my favorite Christmas movie that almost no one knows about! It's a Nora Ephron comedy set in a suicide crisis line at Venice Beach, so many great actors and such dark humor. I even have the soundtrack cd and play it every Christmas!

A few star-studded ones:
Burn After Reading (Coen brothers)
Clear History (Larry David, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton)
Much Ado About Nothing (Kenneth Branagh, Michael Keaton, Emma Thompson, Keanu, Denzel)

And because they’re so different than normal movies, any early Werner Herzog epics, or even a documentary about the making of his movie about dragging a huge boat over a mountain. Particularly when he’s talking — love the sound of his voice.

Girlfight (2000-ish)

Came out around the same time as Million Dollar Baby and is by far the better movie. I'm a sucker for a sports movie and hated Million Dollar Baby with a passion.

Girlfight is one of my all-time faves, and I've never met another person who's seen it! I love it so, so much.

I don’t think these are super obscure, but:

When I was a kid, I loved the live action Secret Garden that came out in 1993. My sister and I watched it on VHS easily 200 times.

Down With Love — a quirky 60s pastiche with Renee Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, and David Hyde Pierce

Emperor’s New Groove — I think this is perhaps Disney’s most underrated movie. It’s hilarious!
