Here is why;
I don’t want my kids being caught Critical Race Theory. I don’t want my daughter to be in the same bathroom as a boy because he “feels” like he is a girl. I don’t want my kids being forced into believing that basic family structures are evil. Public school 10 years ago might have been a fair argument, but now… they are brainwashing our children. |
Then you should keep your kid home and let them be educated by Fox News and Facebook. It seems to work for you. |

You will likely experience all of those things still in private school. 🙃 |
I'm just gonna leave this here https://seekingalpha.com/article/4203662-going-broke-on-1000-000-year |
Oh, it’s that investor’s visa guy, right? Hmmm, that’s interesting. |
Because we have the money to do it.
I want my child to have the very best of everything. I want a class ratio of 2 teachers to 12 students. I want DC to socialize with children from similar backgrounds. |
I went to a top 5 university. Zero difference whatsoever between my education/attention to detail/field trips/plays/public speaking practice (FCPS grad) and the same experiences of my classmates who went to elite private high schools. Nearly everyone in my high school was well connected, smart, and motivated. The running joke among parents was how stupid it was to send kids to private when our school was full of "the" people you needed to know (if you are inclined to think that way) + great education. |
I don't care for public schools. They kill the feedback loop to make themselves better because of guaranteed pay. That leads to declining standards and outcomes. Many public schools are babysitting services now. |
Private schools have an advantage for networking for both kids and parents. Also smaller schools means its more likely your kid will be on varsity teams, yearbook, student government or other leadership positions. |
What year was this. That was then, this is now. |
My kindergartener has been on three field trips so far this year. I suspect that isn’t happening in public school. |
My middle class father was such a miser all of his life and made us go to horrific public schools in the Midwest. There were cheap local Catholic schools which would have cost him relative peanuts after financial aid. But he was too cheap. When he died he left me and my two siblings around $300,000 each. Hand to God we would have all preferred k-12 in those Catholic schools and $0 inheritance. My husband went to similar caliber Catholic schools and I am so jealous of his k-12 experiences and basically ashamed and sad when I think about how crummy my k-12 years were. Our children are private school lifers. |
Good thing your dad left you enough money to pay for your kids' private school. ![]() |
Public schools have gone waaaaay down since the 90’s |
