My middle class father was such a miser all of his life and made us go to horrific public schools in the Midwest. There were cheap local Catholic schools which would have cost him relative peanuts after financial aid. But he was too cheap. When he died he left me and my two siblings around $300,000 each. Hand to God we would have all preferred k-12 in those Catholic schools and $0 inheritance.

My husband went to similar caliber Catholic schools and I am so jealous of his k-12 experiences and basically ashamed and sad when I think about how crummy my k-12 years were.
