OP here . I personally think there is a pay gap. But is it the result of lifestyle choices made by women or is it because there is systematic discrimination against women.? Right now research indicate it is the result of lifestyle choice made by women because unmarried urban women without children out-earn men |

Anybody else remember what Disraeli said about statistics? A pay gap can only be measured by equal assigments. For example, if a man and a woman both get an MBA from the same school and are hired by a company for the same job, is the pay the same? |

All I know is that my boss said to me when I was up for a promotion.
You are clearly the most qualified candidate but you will have children and then your focus will not be on the job. So I am giving the job to Joe. When Joe got the promotion he said to Joe. Joe you know Mary is much more qualified than you, but she is going to have children and then her focus will not be on the job. You better prove yourself or I am going to look bad for not chosing Mary. Joe sucked at the job and eventually - 2 years later I got the promotion. I still kick myself for not taking it to court but that is not my MO. So maybe that is what they mean by lifestyle choice. |
