No. It is not “easily” killing 30 and 40 year olds. The death rate for 30-39 is 0.18%, according to the CDC. Yes, more deadly than the flu. Very concerning. But 30-40 year olds are not dropping dead from this “easily.”

Additionally, it is pretty widely acknowledged that this death rate is highly inflated due to lack of testing. If you don’t know if a large population of people who have the virus, the infection to death ratio is obviously higher. I am not saying we shouldn’t be concerned and that we shouldn’t enact strong measures. But making blanket, scary statements like this is counterproductive.

This really isn't that different from other illnesses. The actual, recorded number of deaths from flu is nowhere near the estimated number that is calculated based on variables. IOW, they don't test much for that either, whether because the cases are mild or because they're diagnosed by symptoms or because it isn't important.

I course it’s different! Every scientist acknowledges this. This is a brand new illness. There has been very, very limited testing. There is absolutely widespread testing for the flu. I know you want to make this as doomsday as possible, but please don’t spread hysteria.

There hasn't been "very, very limited testing" in South Korea. They've been testing thousands per day. Go look at the numbers there.

Looks like India successfully used a combination of HIV and anti malarial/viral drugs to successfully treat 2 of its elderly Italian patients. The wife has already tested negative.

16 of 22 Italian tourists who visited India let Feb, tested positive( and contributed to the spread of the virus to an extent)

The Washington Post is reporting that the president said that states are on their own to attain more ventilators and shouldn't expect federal help. Wtf? The feds should've been contracting with us manufacturers to drop everything and start manufacturing ventilators. We are screwed.

Thats fixed in federal law and can't be changed.

The STATES can of course change the way the choose their electors, any time. State legislatures can appoint the electors. One way or another, those electors will vote and the job will get done.

I could tolerate trump if he was at least effective. Which he as proven himself over and over to not be.

I guess this is what the modern-day "Federalism" looks like: States are given the power (i.e. responsibility) to take care of everything... feds do the bare minimum.

I am too. Our first day of school at home went okay but the idea of feeding everyone, putting on a brave face, for weeks and weeks or months and months, when I can't see how people are going to work or not work, staying home. I just don't know.

Unless it's something else that they want to control and please their voting block. Then it's a a federal responsibility.
