I donno. I think it’s more of a 12-10 type game.

Independence has the best offense by a mile. Simple as that.

Because Indy scores 20 goals against bottom feeders? Against similar competition they score about about as well as YT does

Why does YT want to BE Indy so bad? Its embarrassing.

YT has 1 player and he is good, if not small. Even if I say that none of their guys are as good as #3, which is debatable, they have maybe 5 guys on O that can light you up. They came at us from every angle. If you stop their O, the poles start coming down and will have a hat trick. They are by far the best team we faced this year.

I would say that all 9 field players can score for them, stupid crazy.

Thats what most of you don't get here, they not only have a bunch of talent, the depth is crazy. Get over it, they are a very good team and you can make all the claims you want, they are just very good and I don't see anyone beating them, except themselves, by playing dumb at times.

It totally makes sense to me why you would believe that in light of the competition they’ve played.

How did you come up with these? Why is the offensive score in the teens and the defensive scores in the 60s and 70s.

I dont want to sound like a jerk here , but cool numbers and all but not usre how much they mean. Some of these teams have been in blow outs where the 2nd string goalie and D is in, they let in a goal or two and it fudges the numbers. Accounting for a running clock?

All the advanced analytics here are for not and may work in pro or high level college games, but not in HS.

There are very few numbers that matter, one is the number in the W column and the other is the number of L's in the playoffs. You have an 1 in the L column for the playoffs and your most likely not the best team. Thst it.

I assume because he is doing the top offenses and the top defenses, and not all teams. If you did the bottom defenses and the bottom offenses you’d see goals against much higher than goals for.

So if you don’t want to bother yourself with analysis (numbers are for nerds!!!), why are you here at all instead of just waiting to see who with the state championship, if that’s all that matters to you?

Grab some Midol, a heating pad and some chocolate. Guys got a point.
Your numbers don’t account for many things

I used the LN data on the 6a teams ratings, then took the game by game results of the top teams in discussion and came up with an opponent-adjusted offensive and defensive scale, but I didn't take the time to make them consistent. I should have done that so the O and D versions were more comparable, based on goals.

I've done that now.

Adj Off, best to worst

Independence — 16.89
Yorktown — 13.60
Robinson — 13.56
Madison — 11.83
Chantilly — 11.29
Battlefield — 11.14
Oakton — 9.31

Adj Def, best to worst (lower goals allowed is better)

Robinson — 2.74
Madison — 2.80
Independence — 3.91
Oakton — 6.39
Yorktown — 7.10
Battlefield — 7.43
Chantilly — 12.16

I get that numbers are scary for you.

Do you somehow think that the numbers contradict the wins and losses? Because, um, that's dumb. The numbers provide context, which can be used along with human observation and evaluation.

Do you have any useful comments about any of the teams? Do you actually know enough about lacrosse to offer any useful comments? What have you seen that contradicts the numbers?
