They had barely spent any time together before getting engaged. They were practically strangers. The odds of it not working out are pretty high. Also I always felt like he was performing in the role, not at all sure he actually fell in love. She was smitten, it’s clear, but I wonder how it all looked in the cold, hard light of post-show life.

Someone upthread did research on her address history. She lives in a tiny $500K house and her previous addresses were equally modest. She and her daughter dress and groom nicely, but their houses and cars do not suggest affluence. Building wealth modestly, over time, is consistent with her lifestyle. Never said she's of no means now.

This is so bizarre....building mealth modestly can still suggest affluence. No they're not mega watt flashy rich but houses and cars are not indicators of wealth anymore. And maybe never were. Portfolios, paid educations and Healthcare are. These are invisible things.

It seems like to me Theresa got swept up in winning and was into him until she realized he isn't that great of a catch after marriage. She didn't seem that happy at the bachelor finale for Joey. Easier to separate if you never lived together....

If his ex's account is true, he's very controlling. Not easy to live with, I'd imagine. My big question would be how does he treat Theresa, is he loving and adoring etc. or just self-focused and accustomed to things being the way he wants them.

+1. They both made a deal of being religious, but there was zero religious component to that TV wedding. At one point Theresa gestured at a church her limo was passing on the way to a fitting or picking out flowers or something, and said, that's where we're having a ceremony.

Gerry and Theresa are being interviewed on GMA Friday (4/12)... and is it a coincidence that Reality Steve says there's a negative story coming out in Bachelor nation later this week?

I thought G&T were gonna make it happily ever after... but now I'm thinking they are going to announce splitsville.

I think I commented very very early in this thread, that the big elephant in the room is how difficult it would be for anyone to give up their community, their FRIENDS, their activities, their family proximity, their access to grandchildren, their doctors, etc.

The only option was for both of them to move to Florida or some new state where they would BOTH have to learn the lay of the land and make a new life together. At 70-ish, it's pretty much the very end of the age where anyone would want to do that. It takes time to make new friends, and get comfortable building a new life.

Maybe neither one is willing to give up their current life.

They were going to move to North Carolina or something.
She probably just figured out that he's a loser.

Meh, probably a red herring. I say they show up and double down on “we’re great!” in response to the negative rumors. They’ll be well compensated for continuing the arrangement, too damaging for the franchise if they split.
