Meghan Markle and Prince Harry News and Updates

I'm no MM superfan but a long shot, like I just sort of don't care one way or another, but certainly I wish them the best. I don't get the hate at all. What is the factual basis for the assertions that she's manipulative? I've looked at this thread off and on and never seen anything substantive to make me believe that. Strikes me as lots of baseless (and oddly committed) opinions.

DP. You are right but MMs obsessed devoted haters will attack you for saying that.

MM was probably out of her first trimester when writing the NYT opinion piece (like I guessed earlier in this thread). She looks quite heavily pregnant already (lying on your back hides the belly much better in my experience with 3 pregnancies). The picture is absolutely beautiful, and I understand why Harry wanted to follow in his mother's footsteps in terms of date - but it is quite tone-deaf (yet again!) not to wait for their relatives' baby news. Just reinforces my view of this couple as completely self-absorbed.

The Daily Mail has 8 - 8 front-page stories about Harry + Meghan’s pregnancy announcement. It’s insane. Not even 6AM on Monday in the UK yet.

Glad Meghan is spending this pregnancy in sunny California.

That was me and several others. You are right about the attention-seeking and manipulating, too, with that picture on Valentine's Day. Why the need to announce at all? Aren't they privacy-seeking private citizens now?

They are very annoying and I was a supporter a while back.

Yup, I was one of those people too. I KNEW IT. She's the worst.

Seems like her PR team has found this post and working double time, or you all are you complete suckers. She’s the same manipulative narcissist she was yesterday.

Recent Zoom appearance. They look happy.
So do the surprised poetry students.

Well, no, some of us just realize how crazy the obsessed anti-MM posters are and will speak out against it from time to time. It's no "PR team", hon.

God I love tabloids with egg on their faces.

No Idea: Australian magazine claims split as Harry and Meghan announce pregnancy

Oh right - they upstaged...a baby's name. I'm sure Eugenie and Jack (that's his name btw) don't mind. They're staying at the Sussexs house after all. Best new baby gift ever for a pair of parents without their own place.

They upstaged the parents and the attention they would have gotten. Meghan and Harry cant stand if the focus is not on them. Just like they did at their wedding.

You cannot upstage people that no one actually cares about. The attention they got was always second rate and filler bc they are boring.

Good lord is there not one single thing that they do not pre-plan to announce? All they’ve actually done since arriving in the US is make a series of carefully timed PR announcements. It’s getting old.

That was not my point. Since they are "more popular" than they should have been graceful and let Eugenie and Jack have the spotlight for a week at least! But, this isn't the first time Meghan ( and Harry) have upstaged other members. Remember Camilla was going to make a major speech and Meghan put her story on the Royal Instagram?

And I think you are wrong that 'nobody' cares. Sure if it was your regular woman in London who gave birth but, Eugenie is also the granddaughter of the Queen which is why they made the announcement and the press took their pictures. So people care ( maybe not you)

I'm sure if you got married and a family member of yours whom everyone loved announced their pregnancy at your wedding ( taking the focus off you) and then when you had your first child made the another announcement that had people in your family ignoring you than you would be on her complaining!

Eugenie didn’t even get the front page of the papers or major media coverage in the UK. No one cared. William didn’t even bother with congratulations. Let it go.

I don't see it as courage more than not fully realizing the long term consequences, him being a pushover, him being too infatuated with MM, and MM being incredibly manipulate. She had this masterclass from the beginning. For such a social climber as herself, it's laughable she pretended she didn't know who Prince Harry was when she got set up with him. Everything she's done so far is such a show and manipulative. She wants all kinds of media attention but only if she can control the narrative. Her claiming she wants privacy is the funniest thing ever.

Always thrilled for a couple when they announce a pregnancy. But it’s MM’s clear thirst for attention, particularly after that cringe-inducing NYT piece about her miscarriage, that I find annoying. Celebrities who use pregnancies and kids for attention are nothing more than narcissists. And for all of her desire to live privately, MM seems intent on garnering attention at every turn.
