Joe didn't dump her. She left him because he was a depressed man, and apparently very boring. Now I love the 1975. The fact that they were each others muse for decades makes me wonder if they’ll be able to replicate that passion in future music. It’s lightening in a bottle and they’ve been outed. It will never be the same. This has been going on since 1989 where Taylor and Matty collaborated on Slut! which went to the vault. Every album since then is all Matty coded.

Probably even before that. Mine and Enchanted in Speak Now if you want to believe they met online somehow before he had made it. They were both on myspace.

Robbers is my favorite 1975s song, and so I immediately noticed Taylor’s nod to it in Ready For It. Then years later, she did it again in Peace, The 1 and Cowboy Like Me.

Joe quiet quit. Couldn’t have been that boring and inconsequential since she wrote with him and wrote, at a minimum, invisible string and getaway car about him.

Eh. I kind of see his mum’s perspective. The Taylor relationship and public scrutiny that came from it was very stressful for him. She’s not unbiased about who she cares about between them.

I also find him ugly and whiny. But he’s dated a lot of women so doesn’t seem to be gay. And he’s not famous enough to need to beard.

Taylor's brand will always come first. Whoever she's with will have to accept that. Travis accepts it (embraces it, even). Matty didn't or couldn't (and to be clear, I'm not saying he should).
