| Op back- anyone else have thoughts re: wovens versus roller shades? Does one look nicer than the other or just personal preference? |
Where are these from? They look like top-down roman shades? |
They're gorgeous. How do they compare to Smith & Noble? Like 2x the price? 10x? 100x?
|
I love roller shades but I think they are best in a modern, spare interior. But I really love them and I think they can work anywhere if done right. |
They’re top down Roman shades from the Shade Store. |
I have these in my kitchen. I like the look, but keep in mind that while they defuse light nicely, they provide no privacy at night. You can see right through them from outside when the lights are on (I chose a denser one hoping it would provide a little bit of screening, but it really doesn't). Order one before you commit -- I should probably have done something else. |
Do you happen to know which fabric that is? One of the linens? |
The post says they are natural grass weave Roman shades. I love scrolling The Shade Store on Instagram because they post all the info! And it helps me visualize all the different options. |
Sorry that’s not right. It’s their top down, bottom up Roman shade in linen sheer, oatmeal. |
I did look at their gallery and couldn't find it, but will check Instagram next. I was pricing out some of the fabrics and some of the sheer fabrics required a liner so I was trying to figure out which one this was. Thanks! This seems like a good option. |
| I went down this rabbit hole too and decided on cordless faux wood Blinds from Home Depot in white. A clean look that’s neither too cold and modern nor over traditional like roman (we currently have the same style but with cords and they’re broken). We have painted walls with bolder colors upstairs so the white will pop. |
Im definitely planning to do the fauz wood white blinds in our 4 bedrooms. If the room you put them in had 8 large(ish) windows, do you think the faux wood blinds would look good? I was thinking theyd be too busy looking with so many windows. |
| OP—can you post a pic of a home with a similar window setup? I think it would help. |
We chose simple white roller shades for our room. They were simple but not inexpensive or cheaply made. The emphasis is on the window and the light it allows in. It’s simple and clean but not boring or plain. Beautiful windows and artwork bring in the color. Sometimes less is more. |
Which ones did you select? |
