Regarding the ballroom….
Private donations are not a legitimate funding source for federal buildings/activities. Lawsuits we’ll tell if it is considered a legal source. Because as can be seen by current donations - the money coming in is thinly veiled bribes. Don’t want a tariff on your company….donate to the ballroom.

But I would expect private donations will be determined to unlawful for federal activities.

Federal spending is determined by Congress - you know that constitutional thing - power of the purse. And just because current speaker of the house and senate majority leader are not exercising congressional oversight - doesn’t mean that will always be the case.

I'm a Democrat who spent years campaigning hard against Republicans. Attended the Women's March in my pussy hat. Was a loudmouth on social media about Trump.

You know what? I've come to realize that Democrats are just as unbearable and holier-than-thou, if not more so, than Republicans. Especially progressives, a group of which I thankfully no longer am part. I'll take a sane conversation with a Republican over a scolding lecture by someone on the left.

I gotta say, of all of the people I know, who have HHIs in upper 6 and lower 7 digits, none are threatened by illegal immigants.

Agree with most of this. I’m Republican but didn’t vote for Trump in either election. I agree with tightening up the borders, arresting criminal aliens, and tamping down some of the DEI stuff. I do, however, believe that Trump should be sitting in a jail cell and that his entire Cabinet are a bunch of clowns. I can’t wait until Scavino, Miller, Kennedy, Bondi, Noem, Homan, Patel, Hegseth, Tulsi and the rest of them are held accountable and are left to fight each other for the two available jobs at NewsMax or Fox.

I'm a Republican who voted Clinton 2016, Trump 2020, and Trump 2024. My reasons are pretty simple: I don't agree with everything the Trump administration does, but I think the Democrats would be way worse. In particular, the Democrats' handling of the border under Biden was just criminally awful.

All that being said, I am looking forward to 2028 when Trump won't be on the ballot. (Although plenty of Democrats will hate whoever Republicans nominate in 2028 just as much as they hate Trump because they see all Republicans as evil.... it's kind of sad actually.)

If both sides have unbearable, obnxious, know it all loudmouths who are unreasonably passionate about their positions, why have you decided that the Republicans are now better. DP, but you appear to be under the impression that people against illegal immigration feel “threatened” by immigrants.
That might be the narrative you’ve been fed, but it isn’t reality. There are valid reasons to oppose illegal and/or mass immigration that don’t involve feeling personally threatened.
