Who? |
What's unacceptable is democrats were getting the Obamacare subsidies already in place prior to covid and they wanted the covid emergency subsidies also to continue to be stacked on top of those. Enough is enough. Covid is in the rearview mirror. |

This is why the blame for the shut down will be split evenly. Democrats are way too vocal and obvious about being "pro shut down." |
| The shutdown will not end for a while. Trump will veto out of spite and they don’t have a veto proof majority in either chamber. |
By pro shutdown, I meant that I favored the Dems fighting to prevent the insurance increases. I was certainly not in favor of the government shutting down and making my friends and neighbors twist in the wind for 43 days. |
US structure does not have proportional representation, which enables the two party system and a "tyrany of the majority" within Congress The people who have the power to change when elections happen don't want to change it. |
The fact that there are already subsidies and then there were additional subsidies for COVID and that the ACA is not affordable without these subsidies demonstrates that the ACA is not actually affordable. There MUST be change. |
That is true tyranny |
No thats the way things are supposed to go , shut up and let trump do his thing and if it fails the public will vote him out |
Voting until you get the ‘right’ result is tyranny |
Agreed. But the change the GOP is calling for is “poor people die for lack of basic care while Bezos buys another private island and Trump covers every surface in marble.” The GOP healthcare playbook is literally empty. |
If democrats caved and ended the shutdown, how was it ever a republican shutdown? |
It was 100% a democrat shutdown, from start to finish. |
