Haverford

You got older, made a little money, and now you're more rigid. Got it.

"Haverford College faces criticism for being overly "woke" and a potentially hostile environment for dissenting views.... A culture of self-censorship, intimidation, and a failure to address anti-Jewish harassment...."

Many students were verbally & physically prevented from attending classes a year ago due to a protest fueled by super-woke students. Check out other online sources for first hand accounts shared by disgruntled Haverford College students.

The environment at Haverford College may be more super-woke than that found at Macalester College (less intimidation at Macalester for those who hold differing opinions.)

Maybe in your algorithm that pops up, because it know what you want to hear. Mine says nothing of the sort. Weirdo.

But AI said it on my computer, so it must be true!

You are worried that your son is surrounded by too many women?

Exactly the type of closed-minded, rude, insulting, intimidating comment that would be expected from a current Haverford College student.

OP: If your son who attends a Christian or Catholic school is a social justice warrior intolerant of dissenting viewpoints, then he will be comfortable at Haverford College.

For those who like the super-woke environment found at Haverford College, Occidental College in Los Angeles and Macalester College in St. Paul/Minneapolis area should be considered.

Yes, social psych research has shown that when men are significantly outnumbered by women in a dating environment, they are less likely to form stable relationships, and more likely to take on a "player" personality because it's so easy to hook up. For women, if you have 3-4 straight women pursuing each 1 straight guy, it's so competitive, the women are more aggressive in pursuing the few eligible men, and lower their standards to expect much less of the men.

I'd prefer he not develop skewed ethics/values about women and relationships from age 18-22 if avoidable.

OP, be advised that there is an unhinged Haverford basher who immediately chimes into every thread that mentions the school. It's pathological. I'd ignore.

This. My Alma mater has gone super woke. No one in my class gives anymore. The only college to be sued under the Biden admin for antisemitism because it failed to protect its Jewish students.

Nonsense, I have visited Haverford multiple times and went on tours as well. There wasn’t a single thing that could be considered “woke”. It’s a liberal school and very small so anyone should visit for fit. It just stop the idiotic blithering about “woke”.

It hasn’t slipped, it’s a great school.

Of these, only Davidson is an academic peer of Haverford.

W&L is superior; Hillsdale is a peer.

Hillsdale is nonsense, W&L is a peer.

You can’t be real. I have news for you, lady. A good number of those women are looking at each other, not your son.

Anyone have kids that go there? Is there a Christian community? Thanks for any info at all - the good, bad and ugly.

Haverford is probably too left for Vladimir Lenin.

Although it could be an exciting experience for a young adult from a Christian school background, the experience might be too traumatic due to constant criticism from other students and, most likely, faculty. Your son would be treated with more kindness, tenderness, and respect by the drill sergeants at a Marine Corps boot camp.

Haverford College is a tiny school in terms of number of students. It is important for one to fit in at a small school. Highly unlikely that a student from a Christian school would fit in at super woke Haverford College.

Nevertheless, as an athletic team member, your son should be able to make a few friends. But, do you want to inject your child into an environment where he must keep his background, training, and thoughts to himself due to the risk of constant ridicule and rejection ?

Nonsensical blathering.

spot on - the only leftist peer in this regard is Wesleyan, especially for athletes. Not saying it as a bad or good thing, but it exists - an attraction for some kids but not all

Go to Liberty. Stay somewhere safe that reflects your values.

Or are you afraid that Haverford might be a place that reflects and supports your child's values?
