Thinking about moving to Israel

More freebies there on US tax payer's dime?

Do you understand that right now people in Tel Aviv are going into bomb shelters not infrequently?

Similar to flyover states and tornado shelters. Just less flying trees.

Both countries, the US and Israel, have the same political values, particularly right now. So, in the end, it has to do with your values, which in this case, are probably religious. So, yes, you can move there. If you are orthodox and you want to learn in a seminary, the country will support you doing that, too. Or if you are going to work there, make sure you and your spouse have job opportunities, because it's expensive. The fact that they have started 2 wars might be enough reason not to go, but you seem like you are all in, and are not afraid, so, fine.
Curious- why are you asking us? Why would anyone here have any opinion or even care why some random person wants to move to this particular country? I think you may have wanted to start thing here, no?

Because it's a troll who knows full well that DCUM is largely against current Israeli policies.

I had a friend that did this and she is still there a decade later. She’s part of the whole artsy/hippie scene there though.

Personally, I’m not sure I’d choose now as a great time to visit or reallocate

Are you not also on stolen land?

Yes, but at least I'm not willing to make that conscious to move onto stolen land, when the land owners and their children are still alive. That's pretty crappy OP.

Since you are so morally superior, why don't you return to the land of your ancestors and donate your land in the U.S. to the relevant Native American tribe?

BTW, even though you speak with such confidence in your own stark opinion, it doesn't seem that you realize that Jews maintained a continuous presence in the land of Israel despite the Romans expelling most in 70 CE. Jews have been returning to Israel ever since, even as far back as the Spanish inquisition. Both Palestinians and Jews have legitimate claims to the land. The quicker someone is to dismiss this complex matter as a one-sided issue, the less knowledge and more bias they display.

We all know that settlers steal land even beyond the already-illegal boundaries announced by the government. Not only do they steal land, they attempt to kill the people living there - raiding Palestinian villages under cover of darkness and lighting fires to their homes, not caring how many families die.

OP you must know that this is a terrible place to discuss this. If you are serious and not a troll, reach out to Nefesh b’Nefesh.

When they are talking about moving to a country with an agenda of genocide and ethnic cleansing that entails murdering tens of thousands of people and kicking others off their land, come back and we'll talk. Otherwise the situations are not analogous.

Putting aside all the politics, I just can’t imagine moving to someplace in the middle of a war. I’m so glad to live in a country that’s not war torn.

I know lots of people who moved there for some years on the 70s, 80s or 90s but I don’t know anyone who stayed long term. There are a lot more opportunities here.

And I tell them that the grass looks greener but isn't. I'm French, lived in several EU countries and the UK, and since they often want to move there, I weigh in on those threads.

However in the case of OP, I'll make an exception. Please, do go to Israel. You're like the Americans who love Putin and want to move to Russia with the anti-woke visa they're offering (read an article about that today). You're the ideal candidate. Goodbye.

Point proven.
