RL player movement to GA

I would worry less about letters and more about the competition. Seek opportunities for your player to play against better competition and if you kid improves they will get a shot. For what it is worth, the GA team played almost every ECNL club in NOVA in either scrimmages or in tournaments like Copa Rayados.

Jumping to GA next season from a very good RL team and this is exactly why.

💯

No, it means former RL players will be developed and no longer ignored.

It’s not a zero sum game. RL players can and likely will benefit more from GA. But it is also true that GA players are not significantly better than RL players. If ECNL is tier 1, GA is more like tier 1.5 and RL tier 2

What you're not understanding is if GA clubs want to compete nationally they'll need to get better. (Just like the NVA ECNL clubs)

I'll tell you one thing, the difference in schools attending ECNL vs GA events are night and day.

Take a look at the list of colleges that attended the recent 2025 GA Spring Showcase in Greensboro NC: https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/3814/college-list

Compare that to the 2024 ECNL North Carolina - Spring event in Greensboro NC: https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/3036/college-list

Way more major programs at ECNL events and not just programs within the region. ECNL pulls in schools nationally, while GA is largely regionally focused. The two events are similar above in terms of where they sit among ECNL and GA events nationally and also happen to be in the same location, which helps for comparison purposes.

My recommendation for players/parents is consider what your goals are. You mission should you choose to accept it may be to work your way toward ECNL simply for the exposure to certain schools outside of the Mid Atlantic and more focused on D1, rather than D3.

I don’t think anyone is arguing at GA is better than ECNL at this point. But it is absolutely a better path than RL. And GA can get girls from RL to ECNL.

Is there a link to the college coaches who showed up at the RL Showcase Event?

All GA teams are not equal. You can't generalize without knowing birth year/club.

Honest question because this is a great and important question: is there a RL showcase event? And at what age does it start? u16?

Right, just like ALL ECNL teams are not equal. Both have national exposure. RL does not.

I hear there are a lot of Arlington kids making the jump to Alexandria GA. 2010 and 2011. This could get interesting next year.
