RL player movement to GA

Anonymous
Not here to debate ECNL vs GA, but I’m hearing with the influx of GA teams to NOVA that a lot of current ECNL RL players frustrated with the never ending promise that they will move to the ECNL team, are leaving for a top level GA team such as Alexandria or McLean.

I’m sure there are some players perfectly happy with their RL team, but for the ones that are more ambitious and constantly receiving the run around and “hope” that they will one day move up, this is an opportunity to leave for a top team.

I’m sure a new GA club would happily “take” a RL player from a different club, just to stick it to the other club.

Does this mean RL is going to be not as competitive?

RL will be a joke next year. If your RL player is able I’d find a GA team ASAP.

RL is going to struggle on both girls and boys side. The clubs did it to themselves by not using internal players and bringing in like players from other clubs.

Alexandria just got GA back. They are desperate for players and will gladly take anyone.

My kid plays on a top GA team and we recently rostered a player from a top ECNL clubs RL team. She's really good and fit in instantly.

It's sad that the ECNL club overlooked her as long as they did. Also it's sad that she didn't come over sooner because she would have received a Talent ID invite + played in front of USWNT scouts.

This board has some pretty diverse views but I’ve yet to see someone advocate for playing RL if you can play GA.

Are you sure you aren’t talking about your own DD?

Oh I’ve seen it (mostly Arlington parents probably) and I just cannot even comprehend how playing RL over GA would be an option.

Nope, her parents bought into the "if you do well in RL we'll move you up to NL BS" after 4 years of being ignored they looked into other options. Now the kid is on a top GA team and doing well with all kinds of new friends.

Everyone has to make their own choices but I don't understand why a parent would ever choose to play on a clubs 2nd team when 1st team options are available at other clubs. If a club doesn't value your kid go where they will.

actually i am talking about VRSC

ifynyn

Play up … get a natty tag, id call up and you might find a way to ecnl…

If you know who’s attention to get its a lot easier.

Just be careful what you ask for. Sharks in those waters.

If RL players are moving to GA in numbers, this just means GA talent in this area = RL. And yes, I know there are many good GA teams. Just not in this area.
