Help! I have to spend $3000 on fsa card in the next 2 weeks

Same here, but I only have $1,800. I’ve already bought prescription glasses, gone to the dentist and refilled prescriptions.

Next I’ll be on to a huge OTC meds shop.

It’s a bizarre system.

Fwiw, you should be able use the funds through COBRA coverage so that should give you a bit more time to use it (although you can't use fsa to pay the premium).

You would only be offered COBRA on FSA if you have put more into the account than used at time of termination.

It's so bizarre but it's better than the opposite where under circumstances people lose their OWN money at the end of the year.

For some of these do you need to get medical letter of necessity from a doctor? Like the full body scan, mole removal etc.

Just adding to the list:
One of those scales that also looks at fat density, etc.
a bone density scan (if you are too young to get with insurance…makes a good baseline)

ozempic? therapeutic ketamine? something prescription that insurance doesn’t cover

Nope. You have it all to spend on 1 Jan. If you don't contribute enough during the year, that's on the employer/FSA admin to figure out.
