A bronze medal isn't a "participation trophy" you dolt. Every team in a league or tournament receiving a medal or trophy, despite their record, is a participation trophy. |
| For USWNT its snynomous with a participation trophy. Bronze is not good enough. Are you American? respect yourself then! |
This. They get chosen at a very young age to train their whole lives for a particular event whether it be soccer, an Olympic event, music, etc. They are given the best of everything... Food, amenities, training, etc etc. |

Oooohhh. Ohhhhh. I know. I know why they are so good.
They are coached and developed by abusive BSC coaches. Like, BSC parents, North Korean parents fear of retribution, so they keep quiet too. |
| Some parents define that as 'tough coaching'. |
|
US "scouts" pick the same kids over and over and expect better results.

Well now I'm dying to watch the NK women's footballer soap operas!! |
Found this cute clip |
People may feel like this isn't an accurate statement or say this person is just sour grapes but it isn't entirely false. Seeing how the process works, you can understand how the net just isn't big enough to actually identify everyone. Also factor in the gatekeeping at the local levels with no oversight is problematic as well, but can't blame them too much, they don't feel like the system is broken and nor do they want to invest more into identifying players. |
We were literally told by our DOC that US Soccer likes it when they send the same players year after year so scouts can evaluate their progress. Or in other words US Soccer never makes mistakes but sometimes it takes a while for their genius to manifest. |
| The funny truth about women’s soccer. No one here watched them completely destroy the US under 20 team. One of the worst soccer matches I’ve ever seen. US team had their center forward, Dudley, defend maybe 15 corner kicks in the first half. Korea kept playing short and the US had no solutions. It was like watching a rerun. The US team looked boring and out of sync. They got beat by give and go’s. I will say that most of the Korea team looked much older than 20. But just sad that no one here actually watched any of the tournament and still wants to comment. |
Get lost. This is merely a long winded troll post. Additionally, the first sentence of your longwinded, but poor, post is really crap. |
