Came here looking for this info! Here's what I see in the Post:

If the aurora don’t make it this far south or it turns out cloudy Saturday night, Sunday night might present a better opportunity, The Space Weather Prediction Center is now predicting periods of level 4 or 5 storm activity. Cloud cover should be much reduced Sunday night, too. Stay tuned!

Someone posted the most stunning pictures last night from McAfee Knob along the Appalachian Trail, down near Va Tech. Just gorgeous.

Hoping for something close to MoCo? Any ideas?

From CWG:
Quick aurora update. - 1030p Saturday night.. Geomagnetic storm activity not as strong as last night but some aurora showing up in Michigan. *Chance* things pick up markedly pre-dawn & northern lights spread south. Might be worth setting alarm for 4a or so (Sunday) in DC area and checking skies.

No one knows for sure how strong geomagnetic storm activity will be overnight & timing is uncertain but modeling suggests increase toward morning. Clouds other wildcard. Probably partly to mostly cloudy but maybe enough breaks to see auroras if they materialize.

I can kind of imagine a hint of green in the northern sky but it's pretty cloudy
