There are 14 graduating seniors, and yes, they are the first graduating class. They will be going to Georgetown, Northeastern, Kenyon, VaTech, U Oregon, St. Andrew's University in the UK, Lafayette College, SAIC, SVA, Culinary Arts Institute of America, and some Maritime Academy (think it is Maine). This is not the entire list, but close. I got most of this info from an IG account related to the class of 2022. |
That's actually a nice, eclectic and interesting group of schools. Good for those kids! |
As much as I despise CW, many of the people on this forum appear to be outsiders looking at the school as if it is a burning building right across from the street and wishing it burns down and cheering on. Oh I am a current family member, but will be a former parent at the school soon. If you are not affiliated with WSS for whatever reason either in the past or present, stop acting like you are being helpful by making speculative comments and accusing people of being jerks or whatever. I am on this thread in order to gain better grasp of what is going in within the school from other parents who were or are affiliated with the school. There is a lack of transparency from CW and MR. I have my own opinions about the school and they are far from great. If you are considering this school either as a prospective employee or parent of a student, I urge you to think again. |
Has anyone at the school submitted the enrollment agreement by the deadline? I did not, but I am very curious about how many families are returning. Will the school extend the deadline for the agreement. Curious to find out! |
of course they will extend they are desperate for $. You could enroll the say school starts. Its not like they are going to wait list and giving your spot away |
It looks like WSS will host multiple summer camps at its campus. Here is a link to one: http://www.mathnphotos.com/washington-dc-summer-camps.html
Another camp is called Leaps and Bounds, and it costs 5,000 dollars. |
For one week? Former parent here considering sending DC to that camp as we recently discovered DC needs occupational therapy. |
Hahaha. Could anyone be dumb enough to sign up for another year? |
It runs from June 27th to August 5th. If you are interested, the brochure says to contact Allison Mistrett. Her phone number is 202-237-8737. Her email is Allison@leapsandboundsot com. |
There are children with nowhere else to go. CW is serving a need, even if there have been a few bumps early on. |
That’s absurd. There is always somewhere else to go, especially when the comparison is a house of cards. |
A few bumps?!?! |
I agree, there are other options. Much more limited at this point given admissions deadlines have passed but there are plenty of possibilities families could pursue. |
If only there was a public, taxpayer-supported option for education… |
Maybe those families are in neighborhoods with failing public schools or safety issues. For them, CW is serving a need even though he doesn't care about education overall. I know that I don't want to send my DC to a public. We already worked out an arrangement with a different private and are excited to move on from WSS. |
