No one in this thread is trolling except the lady who insists fathers can't comfort their children. |
"Can you honestly not see that a child needs their mother? fathers, teachers, daycare workers(well not in my house, in yours maybe) all have their place, but no one can beat mom."
Wow. What about 2 dad families? or single dads? You have a very limited view. |
OK, changing the topic here. My minority opinion: I hate ambush returning servicemember videos involving young children and their mom or dad. I think they are exploitative.

I don't like when the older parents complain how hard it is to take care of a child. I had my kids in my 20s and I loved every moment with them. Now when I am in my late 30s and a lot of my friends just started to have kids, I hear this complains all the time. Yes, I believe it must be hard (I can't even imagine be changing diapers now). But it was their choice, so they should just suck it up and do it! |
My minority opinion is that people in this area value career and income above all else. |

+1 Or anything else by choice, for that matter. |
For every militant stay at home mom thee are two militant working moms ![]() |
that's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. What should the servicemember's dc do instead? Shake their hand? ![]() |
I laugh when I see new Northern Virginia homes named after Chicago neighborhoods. The mind wanders and I wonder if life would be better (easier) there. I agree that people here focus too much on careers. |
And status, gotta have the right car, the right address and the right education. Otherwise people will think you're low class ![]() |
I'm with you - and any other ambush (proposal, birthday, etc.) that is done for newspaper/tv/youtube/instagram. For me life is not a spectator sport. But people are different and I can see that probably millions of people think that doing something like that is the "most romantic/touching thing ever". I'm not one of them and I count my blessings that people in my life are neither. |
Don't forget the right boat! |
The easy life exists here too. You just have to live outside the beltway. |
