Well..Donald Hense oversaw the meeting where the free lease was approved in Jan 2021. Here is a cut and paste from the minutes..its pretty slimey Monique Miller asked Ms. Brantley and Mr. Hense to address the perceived conflict of interest with Chris Whittle serving on the Friendship PCS Board of Trustees and being the Founder and CEO of Whittle Studio and Schools. Dr. McGriff stated that the perceived conflict of interest is noted in the resolution and that Chris Whittle is not voting. Chris White asked if there is any exposure to him or us with a conflict of interest being on our board and his board. Dr. Prince stated that if there is not a monetary connection here, this is a free lease, with no exchange of money; we are not at risk as long as we have duly done the notices we are supposed to do. |
Probably also meeting in person to avoid anything in writing that could be forwarded...to DCUM, press/media, attorneys, government entities. etc. You know, just give the thing to the guy we talked about... |
It looks like they are planning to collect enrollment fees and then shut the school over the summer. |
What makes you think they will shut the school over the summer? |
Did Pizza Monday happen today? |
Lol. At least they are not collecting anything from me, so no need for me to worry about such scenario. That would be classless, but at the same time, the reactions of the parents who continued to trust Whittle would be priceless. |
Anyone submitting the enrollment contract that is due by the 12th? My kiddo will officially no longer attend Whittle after the end of the school year. I am just waiting out the date to see what the school will say after that. Will they extend the deadline for the enrollment contract? Can't wait to fine out! |
Yes it happened |

NEWLY renovated spaces? How? With what money? |
Exactly my thoughts |
A smaller set of rooms that they haven’t used yet? |
At 150ish kids they realistically would need maybe 1 classroom per grade (1000 sf each?), spaces for art, science, music (also 1000 sf each?), plus a gym (7,000 SF?) a place to gather as a whole school, plus hallways, bathrooms, offices, etc. Total of around 30,000 SF? Does that seem right? So “newly renovated” could just mean carving out that smaller space from the rest, and then some other tenant(s) become responsible for the rent on the remaining larger space. Or maybe it's all just BS from beginning to end. Time will tell. |
As a former parent of the 2021-2022 school year, I would be asking for clarification on this. When we started asking questions, it became so abundantly clear that it’s all smoke and mirrors. I know that when teachers started asking questions, they were dealt with very disrespectfully by Manny and Ed. The horrid stories our child’s teacher told us is truly heart breaking. |
*I would like to clarify that this teacher is no longer there. They were extremely professional during their active employment. This was after they left and we had pulled our child. |
