VHSL Boys Lacrosse 2026 Season

I’m not sure what team if any are better now than they were then. And if Robinson and Madison are truly in the top 20 public schools in the nation than there is your answer of how bad it is now. Robinson 2016 team would absolutely destroy the 2026 Robinson team. There are 15 other teams just like it. This isn’t a debatable argument lacrosse is much worse now than it was it’s not even close.

What’s the metric? How are you comparing? Literally 2026 is worse than 2016? You’re high. There is considerably more lacrosse interest, dollars spent, more clubs, and hyper-specialization for the seniors today than there were in 2016. The average highschool lacrosse player today is better. Period. If the argument is VA publics have fewer D1 commits, well yeah, there’s a crapload more clubs nationally. If you live in your DC bubble playing for VLC and don’t hit a tournament in Florida, California, or Colorado I get the misunderstanding.

Per this argument you are saying Valley, County, Woodgrove, Dominion, Briar, Stone Bridge, Freedom are all better?! lol dude ur dillusional. I can start rattling off Fairfax teams too. McLean, south lakes, Fairfax, Woodson, south county, lake Braddock, chantilly, Westfield, Oakton, Patriot,… all better back then. What are you talking about lol either you weren’t around or you have no clue. All of those teams arnt good now.

And both will be garbage in 5-10 years like John Champe, Woodgrove, Loudoun Valley, Heritage even use to put up a good squad, etc.
Indy and Lightridge are better in 2026

Riverside and Gainesville too

Enjoy Indy while they last. They won't be relevant in 4-5 years.

Robo 19 - Fairfax 3

Madison beat Westfield by 9, chippy game all around but Westfield hits got a little dirty at the end. 5 on Madison performed well as always, Madison defense looked strong, and both Madison goalies played well. Westfield goalie did not play well, only having 2-3 saves. Westfield offense couldn’t handle the Madison defensive pressure at all and got the ball taken by a well placed check by Madison on the majority of their plays. Madison looks good and seems to be about even with Indy at this point, but it will be interesting to see how they handle battlefield

I think on paper sure, but the 2024 Robo team has to also be in that conversation.
