2030 Girls Lacrosse

A quarter of the current top 20 teams were in attendance: the #8, #10, #11, #14, and #15 ranked teams. In addition, three of the top national teams competed in the 2030 bracket. As with any tournament, there were also some less competitive teams to beat up on in pool play.

It’s a hike and expensive, you aren’t going out there to play top teams, more of a vacation and experience.

Was the experience worth it?

We’ve gone twice, I’d say it’s something every youth player should do once. It’s a very cool environment, with snow capped mountains in the background.

Again, think vacation with some lax mixed in.

Looking for any insight and/or advice on selecting the best fit private school for my daughter's high school experience in the DMV. I have seen other forums address this, but focusing it on rising freshmen next year who are solid club players and understand I may be behind.

I would review the admissions pages of WCAC and ISL schools to determine which institutions are still accepting applications. Given that it is late January, some deadlines may have already passed.

Most, if not all, of the deadline to apply was in December. Maybe there are still some taking applications. If you haven't started searching, you are definitely late for 9th grade year.

Reach out to HS coach or AD, maybe they can still do something.

Are you using the fall results for rankings? More accurate to use last years. Specifically west coast clubs who have not played many to really get accurate rankings

Thank you. We have applied to multiple schools, but am just now getting around to ranking lax as a priority.

Looks like some went up and some went down. Amazing.

Are you asking where most rising freshman club players are applying? SJC, GV, GC, AHC, PVI all start in 9th grade.

Focusing on VA schools - BI, O’Connell, Potomac, SSSA, possibly Flint Hill

SSSAS, Potomac and PVI for lacrosse. The others are not very good at girls lacrosse.

According to my Gemini, which is often not a reliable source, based on the 2026 women's lacrosse rosters for Maryland, Clemson, Duke, Johns Hopkins, UNC, Stanford, Northwestern, Florida, Boston College, and Princeton, the players come from the following states and regions, sorted from most to least:

New York (N.Y.)92
Maryland (Md.)71
New Jersey (N.J.)41
Pennsylvania (Pa.)29
Massachusetts (Mass.)25
Connecticut (Conn.)24
Florida (Fla.)12
Virginia (Va.)11
Colorado (Colo.)8
Georgia (Ga.)7
California (Calif.)7
Texas (Tex.)4
North Carolina (N.C.)4
Ontario, Canada3
Tennessee (Tenn.)3
Ohio (Ohio)2
Illinois (Ill.)2
New Hampshire (N.H.)2
Minnesota (Minn.)1
Michigan (Mich.)1
Delaware (Del.)1
Vermont (Vt.)1
Washington (Wash.)1
Oregon (Ore.)1
Utah (Utah)1
England1
Australia1
Japan1

AI doesn’t distinguish Baltimore / HoCo area MD players from DMV MD-area players. That’s why these stats give an accurate picture:

Number of Baltimore-area players on top 5 teams:

UNC - 2 / 36 (6%)
BC - 2 / 32 (6%)
NW - 2 / 39 (5%)
Stanford - 5 / 34 (15%)
Florida - 7 / 40 (18%)

Average - Baltimore-area players make up 10% of top 5 program rosters

It makes no sense to look at the number of MD players on current top 5 teams and then conclude top teams don’t recruit from MD teams considering ALL of those players were recruited many years ago when the “top” list was different.

You’re not going to like where your argument leads. Maryland has one of the highest numbers of players from the Baltimore area (12). It was ranked #2 in 2022. It’s now ranked #12.

In 2022 Maryland had 18 players from MD and 7 from NY. Now it has 13 players from MD and 11 from NY. I'm not sure where to make of that, but I do know it is ridiculous for the parent of a random 8th grader to suggest that Maryland is somehow not a top women's lacrosse program.

Fact: UMD has historically had one of the largest rosters of Baltimore-area players.
Fact: UMD is tied with Clemson as having the most Balto-area players on its roster (13) of any T25 team
Fact: UMD was #2 in 2022 and has slid 10 spots to #12 in 4 years

Thanks for the insights on college lacrosse, dad of 8th-grader
