Ugh.

How so? I think it just has to do with providing proof of your identity when voting. Sounds reasonable to me.

ND is requiring proof of address on the ID. But a lot of homes in rural ND don't have addresses, particularly on Indian reservations.

+1. A lot of those people rely on p.o. boxes because they have no postal address, but the law requires that ids provide a residential address, not a p.o. box.
No Postal address?

I know those who have an address but the post office doesn't deliver there so they get their mail at their PO Box. But, they do have an address and that address is placed on their drivers license/id.

We’re ripping her to shreds because her speech was asinine and hypocritical. It was, as the kids said, “the slowest middle finger to sexual assault victims ever.”

Your opinion is duly noted although not shared by everyone and it doesn't invalidate their's.

Congrats to President Trump for nominating BK and then sticking by him through it all .... and for giving one of the better speeches he has given.

Congrats to Susan Collins for the brilliant rationale she offered for supporting his confirmation.

Thanks to Joe Manchin for having the courage to go against his party and support his nomination.

Finally, congrats to Mitch McConnell for masterfully managing the nomination to the point of confirmation.

Amen to all of that.

Kavanaugh gave a great speech tonight. Made me even more sure that he is the right person and that justice prevailed.

I agree. He will serve honorably on SCOTUS.
And to the person that thinks there is only one pro-Trump person posting.....Wow. #Clueless

NP here.

Disagree it was very partisan. It’s the first time in the history of the US that a supreme court justice named and thanked the members of one political party for getting him his votes and getting him through. Very partisan.

And the first time in history that one political party said they would "do whatever it takes" to block a The president's nominee, before even knowing who it would be, and voted in opposition with only one brave exception. Plenty of conservatives voted for Kagan and Sotomayor. Let's not delude ourselves into thinking the Democrats are anything but hyper-partisan.

We live in hyperpartisan times. But Trump is the first President to nominate off a preapproved list of people guaranteed to make conservative rulings. So Dems had plenty of time to check them all out and decide. Still, if he had picked somebody else off the list, that person would have passed with some Democratic votes, like Gorsuch did. If he had gone off list, he could have gotten a lot of Democratic votes.

Do you think RBG was picked by Bill Clinton with no consideration of her liberal leanings?

+1
Or Sotomayor and Kagan by Obama? Of course every president is going to make a pick that reflects his or her political leanings. Duh.

Yes. I'm glad to see he's not going to be cowed into remaining silent.

He thanked every single republican senator in the judiciary. Partisan much?

Darn! He should have thanked Diane Feinstein!

He should have thanked Avenatti.

Oh, please. He thanked the senators who voted to confirm him - including Joe Manchin, a Democrat. He then thanked *all* the senators. You just want to hear what you want to hear, regardless of what the truth actually is.

It would be more of a threat to chant, “Party with Brett.”

Ford is keeping all $1 million of gofundme donations.

“I cannot express how grateful I am for the outpouring of support and generosity that we have received through this GoFundMe account. I believed and still believe that it was my civic duty to come forward, but this is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, much harder even than I thought it would be. And not just for me, but for my husband and our sons, for my relatives who still live in the Washington area, and the friends who have stood up on my behalf.
I feel like all of you who have made a contribution are on this journey with me, which is very heartening. And some journey it has been and continues to be. We have already had to move four times, our movements are limited even with security, and the threats are ongoing. Thanks to you, I am able to feel safe, my family can be together, and my children can continue to go to school.

The costs for security, housing, transportation and other related expenses are much higher than we anticipated and they do not show signs of letting up. Funds received via this account will be used to help us pay for these mounting expenses.

Please know how much we appreciate your moral support and your contribution,

Christine

It's illegal to threaten another with bodily harm or worse. Who is investigating them? Local police? State? Feds?

You do not know that she is keeping all of the contributions. You are speculating.

She SHOULD after what she has been put through.

Once again, as Bart O'Kavanaugh said "what comes around goes around." Keep that in the back of your silly little minds.

Big difference is that while RBG or Roberts might be liberal and conservative respectively, they were not political operatives for much of their career. That plus the many lies under oath....

Didn't know until now that Kavanaugh was part of the pro bona legal team that fought against the repatriation of Elián González to Cuba.

Five women voted to confirm Kavanaugh, why is Collins the only one that is being personally and politically eviscerated by the left?

Is it because she was the only with the guts to speak?

If this is true, as PT Barnum is supposed to have said: "There's a sucker born every minute"

Ramirez and Swetnick really lost out ..... because there were suckers who would have happily contributed for them.
