Worst hollywood casting decision ever?

I still can't believe that film won so many awards. They basically just gave him credit for the huge special effects.

The only Leo films I have enjoyed him in were The Departed and Catch Me If You Can. He's generally a reason for me NOT to see a movie.

I thought he was good in Once Upon a Time.

This isn't a movie, but Moira Kelly in the early seasons of the West Wing was awful. I fast forward past her scenes in the early seasons, which is too bad, because they were so good, except for her performances.

Gotta admit that I think this thread has lost its way from bad casting bad performances. It's not the same thing.

ok, ok - I'll give you that one. I think Brad Pitt's performance far outshined Leo's though

I don’t care about the Oscar mess - I also enjoy Shakespeare in Love. That guy’s eyelashes are to die for. And I thought Gwyneth was decent.

Keep in mind that Bend It Like Beckham was basically our first intro to Keira. I thought she was ok in that role. She played the tomboy fine. I think her build is similar to a couple of our women’s players

Decent doesn't win oscars. That vile man who will remain nameless bought the oscars.

Yeah, but at least she looks good.

So top picks so far:
Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell
Hayden Christensen as A. Skywalker
Keanu in any movie other than action roles (Matrix, Speed, Wick) or dumb-s$&t roles (Bill & Ted, Parenthood)
Meryl Streep in non-drama roles
Will Ferrell as the lead (great as a side kick, but never, ever cast him as the lead).
And Kevin Hart, Dustin Hoffman, or Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.

She’s cute, personable, and has a decent voice, but put her next to incredibly talented Broadway stars, in a role where she’s supposed to have some undefinable “x factor” and it just ends up looking silly. Broadway performers are ridiculously talented.

I really wanted that show to work and she wasn’t the only reason it didn’t but her miscasting was a big part of it.

McPhee is a Broadway star. She has an amazing voice. What are you talking about?

There’s a huge difference in a “celebrity” landing a Broadway role, and someone who rises up through Broadway to become a Broadway star.

I’m not saying Katharine McPhee isn’t talented or fun to watch in the right project, but put her next to Megan Hilty and Christian Borle and she just pales in comparison.

Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum in One for the Money.

The entire Wrinkle In Time cast --- they really screwed that up.

Brad Pitt in that Nazi movie, that is supposed to be funny. He just can't act and it was like some kind of gross caricature, Inglorious something.

Actually I loved him in the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona and thought he was perfectly cast for the role.

Nothing I said means what you said isn’t also true

I think she was fine in that movie. I think it’s a decent movie, too. I enjoy it. I don’t have issues with the casting or story like others do.

I think people upset about the oscar and weinstein project that ugliness back on the movie and actors.

This is one that seemed ok at the time but aged terribly.

Malib Ackerman in Watchmen movie! She barely can play one character but they gave her two?! She’s a bad actress.
