I wonder if the pearls are for Harris

To be fair, Laura Bush’s MIL is known for wearing pearls, so could be a family thing.

I do think that even for conservative women there is a sense of excitement and solidarity over the first woman VP.

Or she's wearing pearls because pearls are classic?

Oh no! Are you worried you can't wear your pearls anymore because now people are going to think you're a Democrat?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Did you see Meena's insta about it? They wanted to dress like Kamala when she was little - there's a photo of Kamala wearing a faux fur jacket when she was their age. SO SWEET.

Totally cute! Love what look like Baby Docs too!

I have met Laura Bush - she is stunning in person.

Not the greatest pic, but what I could find:

Thank you so much! Better than nothing that I found.

"I thought she was so cheesy. So 2008. It was a weird choice...a celebrity who made it about her, rather than about the solemn occasion that it was. So flashy and tacky."

"She looked like one of the orange skin family. Other that that, I liked when she said a few words in Spanish."

"She would have fit right in to Trump's family farewell ceremony this morning. Fake orange skin, fake hairpiece, covered in glitter."

+1

Can anyone discern W's scarf brand? I zoomed in but couldn't quite make out the label.

OMG she is beautiful. Total girl crush.

I was trying to express to my kids the wonder of J Lo. I cried during her song.

Loved Garth Brooks. Loved Biden's speech.

+1. I thought everything was flawless except Garth brooks’ pants were inappropriate and trying to make it about himself, and j lo’s performance was horrific
and embarrassing.

I think it would be better without the ruffle bow.

He's adorable. Makes me miss my baby boy, who is now 11 and has refused to wear anything but athletic type clothes for years.

Yes, that coat is adorable!

Other than Bernie Sanders, who was consistent to his own style (including mittens?), I didn't really see anyone whose clothing, hair, or accessories were wholly-inappropriate or poorly-fitted. Yes, Kamala Harris and Dr. Biden's coats looked a little tight or boxy, but that's likely because of body armor. I thought the colors they chose were lovely!

Bill Clinton's gloves made me smile. No dress/formal gloves for him!

Oops! I meant to type *headband,* not hat.

<ducks> I loved the poem and the rest of the outfit but I did not love the headband.

Bernie's gloves are made of recycled products. They were hand made by a Vermont school teacher, and he has more of them. He is very real - refreshing in the D.C. area!

The Clinton's both need new gloved.

So can you share a lead on where to get nice purple leather gloves?

I love Jill’s gloves. Something about her outfit give me Jackie O vibes

Did J Lo and HRC have similar ruffle bows?

^ I Think jlo’s is a blouse and HRC’s is a scarf.

Ugly collar.

I love the whole thing. Quirky, youthful, and fun.

The shoulders are amazing

I thought Harris’s niece’s husband wearing the $2000 sneakers was a poor choice.
