Or more likely he had both at the same time |
Thanks, very informative, including the video interview with Scott Gottlieb, former FDA commissioner |
Does anyone know whether DC (or MD/VA if they live there) is testing the parishioners |
The other clergy and staff that work closely with him every day also have kids. There's nothing about quarantining any of them. Testing isn't enough. Quarantine plus 2-3 tests and daily temperatures. How can we suck so badly????????? |
That poor man, that really sucks. |
At this point with the pitiful track record thus far in our nation and the inadequate health apparatus there’s no way I’d call ahead. They would only tell you not to come. Screw that. If I think I have a disease that’s killing people and so far misunderstood I would show up at the ER and refuse to leave. Test me. Admit me. |
But don't you think you would be doing your community a favor by just staying home? Not infecting people in the ER, not taking up a bed unnecessarily? They should be reserved for only those who need them. |
Nowhere does it suggest going to the ER and demanding a bed be a step you take should you consider yourself at risk. Here's a good chart:

But it’s clear that the Trump administration and the health system he is directing and influencing is trying its damndest NOT to test people, either because they desperately want to keep everyone from knowing how woefully ill prepared we are for testing or because they don’t want the positive numbers to be tallied and reported. Stay ignorant and we wont have to admit that it’s an epidemic. |
You seem to completely misunderstand the virus. |
PP is just saying go, don’t ask, not “go even though you don’t really need to go.” I think the best thing, if it can happen, is if your doctor instructs you to go and *the doctor* calls ahead. |
That’s from March 6, old in COVID19 years. Here is what you do: if you’re not sure if you should go to the ER, call your doctor and do what they say. If you’re having difficulty breathing or are in severe pain, go to the ER just like you would if we weren’t worried about a COVID19 outbreak. |
Both Germany and France today banned public gatherings of over 1000 people.
France had a previous ban for gatherings over 5000. Not sure about Germany, but both countries are see large increases in cases. |
But you shouldn't/wouldn't be doing anything different, even if you were tested. It sounds as though the test isn't definitive until 14 days have passed, anyway (based on the treatment of the cruise ship passengers that were quarantined -- some showed up positive later during quarantine, even when they were negative when they first got off the boat). If you are self-quarantined, the demand to test sounds more like its for your convenience and your hope that it will give you a (probably false) peace of mind. It seems so odd to me that the same people who are demanding that the schools be shut down where there is no evidence of exposure think we shouldn't just do a 14-day quarantine of everyone who's been exposed (whether or not they're tested). Those who seem to think it's possible to test the entire population and isolate out the "positives" just aren't thinking clearly. You're chasing a moving target. |
Italy is now blaming Germany for their outbreak. apparently a study of the northern Italian strains match the strains from the German auto parts maker factory outbreak (where someone from Singapore visited the German plant and brought the virus with her). |
