New poster but here’s my evidence. She’s new- that’s why people are interested in her, criticize her, write articles about her. Just like they did with Diana and Kate. She’s pushing 40 and once she’s done having kids she’ll be like fergie- older and not interesting. Around Kate’s wedding the media mania about her was insane

Very true about the shiny new toy aspect, but Eugenie's husband is newer. Where are all the articles about her/him/them? Maybe the royal family is like a line from one of the old episodes of Will and Grace about the Kennedys "I don't think they really care who the girls marry."

So true. They don't care about the royal girls or their spouses period (unless that person is named Elizabeth) Also Lady Gabriella Windsor wishes she had Meghan's fame and popularity. She just got married in May and has penned a tell-all about her wedding (fame hunger is strong in this one). But no one cares.

I think people have been saying she's 'new' since 2017. You know she was also well-known BEFORE she met Prince Harry right?

Anyway Diana has yearly television programs, books and memorials to her and she's been dead for 25 years. If anything, people are losing interest in Kate and her kids. While Meghan's going from strength to strength.

P.S. - We all wish Fergie would go away. Unfortunately Andrew has had his cheating/bribing ex-wife living with him for the past decade. Interesting that no one is crying foul about THAT taxpayer expense though.

She may not have been a household name, but she had some level of fame. Being famous doesn't mean that you are either Prince or 1990's Julia Roberts famous or you are nothing. Newscasters, youtubers, athletes all have some level of fame. She wasn't Jennifer Aniston famous, but Suits had a fanbase and some people knew who she was. I'm not going to comment on the most famous person in the world thing, because I think that's ridiculous and i'm a pure Meghan fan. However, anyone denying that the picture taker deserved to be stopped by security is being ridiculous. He could have taken a selfie from wherever he was originally seated. Why would he come all the way to where she was to take a selfie? I've done the same thing, pretend to be taking a selfie when I really want to get a picture of something funny or interesting without alerting people. He was clearly using the "selfie" angle to get a picture, and he got caught. The media is terrible when it comes to her. If that had been Kate or say a Trump kid, their fans/followers would have been raging. He got way to close to her, period.

Agree. I’m a big gossip reader, I’m a big movie and and music and tv person. Even though there are genres I’m not into, I still seem to know what actors are in *everything.* DH will be like “how do you know about that? You don’t even like that movie and have never watched it...”. I usually make connections.

First time I heard of Meghan Markle was the relationship. I had heard of a show called Suits, but I’m not into whatever channel it was on. And because it wasn’t a famous network hit, it just didn’t cross into my consciousness, let alone any of the actors—even ones I know like Gina Torres.

+1 My understanding of protection agents/body guards is that they aren’t going to wait to interpret somebody’s motives before they go in to action. The man got too close to the person they were protecting and they acted.
