Bullis concerns

Seriously? I’m not reading any malicious intent. Not everyone who disagrees with you has to be evil. Different strokes for different folks.

Honestly anyone who voluntarily selects the school at this point has issues. Where there is smoke there is absolutely fire.

Say someone opened a conversation with “Dominos pizza sucks”. And then someone else was like, “I heard that a lot of people have been saying bad things about Dominos pizza. But I ignored the haters and tried it. Turns out their pizza really isn’t tasty.” That’s spiteful? Seems like you are the one with the skewed point of view.

Point is PP clearly has an axe to grind. PP doesn’t explain hat, just generally bad mouths. Seems spiteful.

Do you really want to see the details of the school’s dirty laundry laid out publicly in this forum? You might be more comfortable with the generalities.

I think everyone is well aware of the issues. However, there are families there that stay because of how happy their kids are and the quality of the teachers. Thankfully Boarman is leaving and they can start to turn their reputation around.

I respectfully disagree, I think people aren't really aware of the just how big the issues are at Bullis. There seems to be an inside joke that everyone understands about it being new money and the public you pay for, which has always seemed silly and trite to me. The deep-seated issues that will really affect your kids (like the financial mismanagement enabled by "cozy" relationships at the head or the really gross bullying problem or the rampant drug problems in the Upper School including using in the classroom or the self-segregation among kids and families or the unhappy teachers) haven't really been mentioned in the retained comments here.

Bullying, unhappy teachers and drug use are at every high school.

It honestly baffles me that the things you cite (presumably) as untrue and the things you say it are true seem unrelated.

Yup. Though I cannot speak for the upper school at Bullis, I know that the lower and middle school have swiftly taken care of any situation where bullying was involved. Unless people cite specific situations and have first hand knowledge, most of it is hearsay. We also know that Boarman is leaving and most are celebrating that.

That Bullis swiftly takes care of bullying is also hearsay, so that doesn’t take PP very far.

I've experienced it first hand.

The leadership of the BOT is a complete joke.

How the headmaster is even allowed to come back for another year is beyond me after such a poor year for the school.

I understand he has one year left on his contract but does Bullis really have that little of an endowment or operating cash they can’t buy him out?

How much debt has the school incurred as a result of him?
Anonymous
So you want them to incur more debt by buying him out? You are real smart.

Even the magical private schools where all the families are warm and welcoming and all the children are above average?
