There are many participants on this thread. I predict end to the set aside. If Cold Spring can't have its 20 seats, how can Takoma Park keep 25?

if only someone had told the sour grapes mom whose keeps posting over and over

It's definitely the same poster with the same flawed assumptions over and over and over.

A bitter parent whose kid couldn’t make the cut @TPMS Whines about how unfair life is for 10+ pasges all while making up trash. Kind of glad the county excluded this one’s off-spring from our community.

More likely they’ll see fit to double the set aside and decrease the out of boundary numbers to reduce overcrowding

Yet only one who appeals to the fact that there are many posters, and only one who goes in for the the split-the-baby-in-two scenario.

FYI TPMS has already started their renovations to expand the school so the overcrowding issue of adding 75 additional out of boundary magnet slots (instead of keeping the 75 in boundary slots) is not real.

It was never real. The in bound seats are a leftover vestige of white privilege. Time to end this.

CS was sending Asian kids via county wide competition.

TPMS is having 25 reserve slots to help Whites gets those seats.

If both statements are true then, education department investigation should look into this to see if MCPS is intentionally making policies which end up harming Asians and benefiting whites.

Is TP seats are for entire DCC or only for TP? If it's only for TP, it makes no sense.

+1

What's so unique about TP to give them quota?

Many MCCPTA leaders and county executives live in TP.

Yo crazy people every MS magnet in MCPS has a set aside for the host school because it doesn't cost anything as has been explained here about 1000 times.

It's common for Asian families to leave Potomac for TKPK these days because they value their children's education.

Yup. Roberto Clemente MS had it. I don't know if MLK MS has taken over the Humanities one, but I would assume so.

Since MCPS is using peer group as argument to reduce Asians, let's be consistent.

Why these 25 TP students need magnet? 25 is a big enough peer group.

Quota should not be present if MCPS is focusing on having peer group.
