PPP here. This is exactly what I am talking about. It's the Hollywood Kardashian style photo ops. So trashy. Why was a meeting like this at a restaurant instead of the palace? Why was she wearing ripped up jeans's w heels. For the photo opp w the paps.

It's her mannerisms..she is always looking for and mugging for the cameras. The other royals are always photographed in journalistic style as if the cameras are not there. It shows class, she comes across as craven.

Always touching her hair with her engagement ring hand for the paps, now she's always cradling the bump. It's to show off. The fake smile that never reaches her eyes, the way she puts her hand on the backs of the royals as if to manipulate them as if she has the upper hand. You never see the other Royals act like that.

I don't know how "smug" she looks. I think she just comes off really fake and arrogant social climber. She was a Z list actress in third rate cable show. I would not call her successful in her field. No one knew who she was before Harry.

She certainly was not rich though she loved to play that part. She finally found her dream of fame and she is eating it up. She discards people when she no longer has use for them, even her own family. This is not true love. She wreaks of Narcissism.

Personally I liked the meeting. She is committed to the job and having ongoing meetings with staff. It's called having a work effort and not saying 'private engagement in Kensington palace' whether it happened or not.

As for looking at the cameras vs not - don't get me started. The English habit of showing up dressed up for a event and looking away from the cameras while they're walking through the front door is so stupid.

A few items

1) None of you know these people. You can't tell anything about their character from expressions in press photos or their outfits.

2) In 20 years, Harry and Meghan are Andrew and Fergie. In 40 years, Charlotte and Louis are Andrew and Anne. 50 years ago, the late princess Margaret was the headliner; most of you would struggle to identify a photo of her.

3) Kate and William are concentrating on their family. I think the Queen wants them to, since she probably blames her own absentee parenting for her children's general failure at human relationships.

4) The royals don't get a ton of money from the taxpayer, but they do get to live in those palaces tha the taxpayer has to maintain. The Queen pays for stuff like Eugenie's wedding from her personal fortune, or the income she gets from the Duchy of Lancaster. Prince Chaz pays for Harry and Meghan out of his income from the Duchy of Cornwall.

If they abolished the monarchy tomorrow, the taxpayer would get inheritance taxes on all of the Windsors' cash, which would drag them down to upper middle class in 2-3 generations. The taxpayer would also get the income from the Duchies on Lancaster and Cornwall. The income isn't that much (tens of millions) but the government could develop all of that land as they see fit. The security costs would go away, and they could open the palaces to the public so they could be more self-sustaining.

This is a great post. You articulated perfectly why many of us are annoyed by her. She is such a fake and so full of herself. She is also very tacky.

Harry will learn in time. Too bad now that she is pregnant he is attached to her for life.

*rolls eyes* Prince Harry has always had an amazing ability to carry off a regal air, same as his grandfather. To me he doesn't look miserable, he looks the hottest he's ever been. It's clear he cares about his duties and the love of his life. He's protective of his wife and yet he still encourages her to get out there and shine.







And I LOVE how visible he's been - he and Meghan both. They're doing engagements almost every week, sometimes twice in a day. So the public sees them. The rapport with the people is clearly there.
