“She is both a criminal and a witness and in this case. They determined it was so important that she be available as a witness, they gave her a favorable plea deal,” Leroy said. “The authority that the judge will have in regard to Ms. Lee is simply to sentence her within the maximum or minimums of the crime that is presented to him or her."

Wicked evil woman. She will burn.

Nothing about this woman resembles and angel. It’s confounding why she would feel compelled to participate in this in any way. One article said in one failed murder attempt she approached kelsey at her home with a poisoned Starbucks drink, but chickened out with some story about acts of kindness. Just really bizarre.

Stupid victim-blaming comment.

Nope.
You need to think deeper.

What on earth makes you think you know why this woman had her child? Or that that felt she "had to"? The baby didn't "get her" killed. This psycho killed her.

The acrobatics that people will do to remove the blame from violent men is astounding.

Because black and Hispanic men never get angry.

Two for two. Colorado has waived the death penalty on Patrick Frazee (they did the same for the husband who killed Shanann Watts). Also I just saw the details of how he killed her. If he's pleading not guilty, how do they know this?

The Colorado rancher charged with murdering his fiancée will not face the death penalty, according to a new court decision.

Prosecutors had a window of 90 days to file a death penalty motion after Patrick Frazee, who allegedly killed the woman he planned to marry, Kelsey Berreth, after he pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Frazee allegedly blindfolded Berreth and had her guess the scents of different candles, according to an arrest affidavit. While Berreth was distracted, Frazee allegedly hit her with a bat, which ultimately killed her, the document said.

He allegedly hit her so hard that he even knocked a tooth out, the document said.

I wonder too how they know those details. How f*ing horrific. She trusted him enough to play a "guess the candle scent" game blindfolded. And the baby was in the house at the time of the killing, which could not have been quiet. I just can't comprehend. And that three other people knew this was going to happen for at least a month in advance and didn't tell authorities (the new girlfriend and TWO of her friends). One psycho I can sort of imagine, but three people who know what he's planning and don't do anything, I really can't get there.

All they know is from the girlfriend. They didn’t even find most of the forensic evidence in the home until she told them where to look. Not saying this absolves her in any way.

There is a sliver of justice in the world after all. Now let’s get a conviction for Fotis Dulos.

Wow, guilty on all charges. So is that life in prison in Colorado?

Patrick Frazee was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 156 years.

They didn’t file death penalty charges, but at least Colorado hands out heavy sentences.

I’m not a lawyer but it seems like prosecutors feel it is easier to get conviction without the death penalty added on?
