The fiancé of missing Colorado mother Kelsey Berreth killed her by wrapping a sweater around her head and bashing her with a baseball bat and later burned her body in a water trough, according to testimony at a preliminary hearing in Cripple Creek, west of Colorado Springs.

On Tuesday, nearly three months after Berreth went missing, prosecutors filed new charges against Patrick Frazee, including tampering with a body and counts related to a crime of violence. He was arrested in December on murder charges and is being held without bond.

The next day, she (the girlfriend) drove overnight to Colorado, bringing with her latex gloves, a white cleaning suit, booties, bleach, two trash bags and a hairnet, according to the agent's testimony. She picked up a key at Frazee's home and opened the door at Berreth's townhouse to what she described a "horrific" scene, Slater testified. She spent hours cleaning, discarding blood-stained toys and other items...investigators examining Berreth's bathroom found blood in the toilet, the bathtub exterior, the bottom of a trash can, the walls, floor, a towel rack, the vanity and an electrical outlet, according to Slater.

Amazing - all that blood even after she scrubbed it like she was a CSI tech. *shakes head* RIP Kelsey.

It's so extremely creepy that he tried three times for his girlfriend to kill her by various methods, and that the girlfriend drive overnight to go clean up the crime scene. It's hard to imagine what motive she could really have for being involved in a murder ... just to get rid of her boyfriend's soon to be ex?

Yes. Please don’t anyone feel pity for this WILLING accomplice who was complicit in this poor woman’s murder. As far as I am concerned she is as guilty as him. I cannot believe they gave her such a sweet deal.

Its too bad but the deal she got was because the fiancee destroyed Kelsey's body so thoroughly she might as well have been a victim of the Mexican cartel.

He burned her beyond recognition, chopped up the charred pieces, and discarded that in a river or dump. They have no body and no evidence other than the girlfriend's word and some blood in the townhouse.

Which is why Krystal Lee Kenney is only looking at 18 months in prison, less with time served and good behavior, after covering up a murder.

“She is both a criminal and a witness and in this case. They determined it was so important that she be available as a witness, they gave her a favorable plea deal,” Leroy said. “The authority that the judge will have in regard to Ms. Lee is simply to sentence her within the maximum or minimums of the crime that is presented to him or her."
