This mom ain't worth shit. I WISH my child would act like this. She would have gotten backhanded immediately. And I don't care what people think about spanking -- some kids need fear, not coddling and negotiation, in order to behave. I don't need a snack, iPad, benadryl or anything else. Oh my God. I just watched the video. I don’t know how there wasn’t a revolt from the rest of the passengers. That was awful and anyone excusing either the child’s OR the mother’s behavior needs their head checked.

There must have been signs that taking this kid on a plane would be a bad idea. I don’t care who the F you are, what kind of entitlement you think you have, what kind of diagnosis you have, if this is your child, STAY HOME. POINT BLANK PERIOD.

I would have demanded my money back. Absolutely inexcusable.

I read a bit more about this situation. Apparently before they took off they tried to get the family off the flight but the mom somehow convinced them everything would be ok.

Which she knew was a lie. If that was the first time this happened she would have been mortified and apologizing profusely. Her inaction demonstrates that she's used to this and can tune it out....while everyone else suffers. Ugh - she gets worse and worse.

This video bears the image of a child and his name. It should not have been posted to YouTube. It should not have been run by news outlets. It is not "news". The mom made a grave error in flying unprepared. Maybe you would have done better, but try kindness and compassion. Even when someone screws up. Try to be the light, not the darkness.

I may have been able to be “the light” on a 2 hour flight to Orlando that’s chock full of families heading to Disney. But this is beyond bad behavior or normal kid stuff. It’s also not an “error” — this woman knew what she was setting everyone up for. So here, she deserves every single negative reaction that she gets.
