Harvey Weinstein

Would you speak up knowing he could make or break your career? I’d like to think that I would speak out, tell people but in reality who knows. I understand why they didn’t speak out.

Just as I understand why women aren’t speaking out against the other powerful producers doing this same type of crime against women today. Face it - there are plenty of other Weinstein’s out there now. Will they be called out?

I think there are lots of famous and powerful men who are living in fear right now, wondering if any of the women they harassed or assaulted over the course of their career are going to decide to speak up.

There were plenty of women too. They should be doubly ashamed.

No it’s only men.

One woman, quoted today in the NYTimes, said she wanted to report him but knew that word would get out if she did and other men would see to it that she was blacklisted. This is precisely what keeps women silent.

But there are plenty of women over the years that have fawned over him and praised him. Many times on shows where they are promoting movies, actresses would gush over "The Weinstein Brothers"

And there are many actresses who gush over and praised people like Woody allen and Roman Polanski, knowing that they were full on predators.

That bothers me just as much if not more than a bunch of sleazy guys protecting their own.

I do not fault any of the women who were victims but I sure do fault any of the women, particulary powerful actresses, who looked the other way while heaping praise and accolades on men they know to be predators.

If we women do not use our voices to speak up, then who will?

Well, what about his wife? Surely Georgina knew the rumors before (and subsequently after) she married him. How can she defend or even stand by his predatory behavior towards young, vulnerable women and girls? She and other women like that, who stand by and do nothing, make my skin crawl with disgust. I honestly don't know who is worse...the predator or the enabler/facilitator.

+10000 Absolutely zero respect or sympathy for wives like this. She was complicit in his behavior and sat idly by while he harassed and assaulted women presumably so as not to disrupt her comfortable lifestyle or gravy train.

Unless you work with your spouse, do you know everything that is going on in his/her office? Would your spouse tell you if they are sexually harassing and abusing the staff?

You're kidding me, right? I'm sure he treats her with the utmost respect and has never hit on another woman in her presence. She also probably had no idea about the numerous allegations spanning 3 decades or the hundred of thousands of dollars flying out of their bank account for settlements. It was willful ignorance.

I know you're attempting to be sarcastic, but save it. Would you know if your husband was sexually harassing his subordinates? Does he come home and say, "honey, I chased the new intern around the office and groped her T & A.

The settlements don't come out of the personal accounts. They come out of the company account, and most large companies have insurance policies that cover such claims. So I doubt Georgina or whatever her name, missed any funds connected to such claims flying out of their joint bank accounts

Are you for real? Yes, I think I would have some idea if my husband had been sexually harassing/assaulting, possibly raping, being accused of, being investigated for and settling tens of sexual harassment and/or sexual assault cases. Did you miss the part about it being an open secret in Hollywood? I'm not even sure I'd call your ignorance willful. You just sound like a complete moron.

At our work the wives have no clue.

The difference is that Harvey was also pressuring the women he was sexually harassing into wearing his wife's clothes on the red carpet at major awards shows. You cannot tell me that Marchessa is in the same level as the other fashion houses that celebrities usually wear to award shows.

Nope, I'm not buying for a second that his wife didn't know. It was an open secret in Hollywood. They were joking about it at awards shows. He's been doing it for decades. There were full-scale investigations and this expose has been in the works for another decade.

Possible that those jokes were an activism of a sort. Feeling unable to do much (not remotely close to the situation, but still, hearing rumors), some comedians slipped it in. Not an accusation so there's no legal risk. But firing a warning shot, "I know who you are."

At this level in hwood, it's a different world, a different moral standard. Especially the non-actors, the ones who are known in Hollywood but not facing the public Many of these people see lots of terrible unethical actions, and
1. If they say something, it might not come to anything
2. That will get them kicked out.

Did you see the one where reporters, several, were taking photos of Weinstein beating up someone? That's the stuff paparazzi live for, right? Nope.

Agreed. Plus he had stylists like Rachel Zoe putting movie stars in his wife's Marchesa dresses at awards shows for he publicity (Oscars, Golden Globes, SAG, etc). And I bet there is a serious pre-nip, she needed Weinstein and his money. She made a deal with the devil. I don't know how she can look her daughter in the face.

Of course the wife knew, and wait...
she's STILL staying with the serial rapist.
With two parents like that, my heart goes out to their 4 and 7 year old children.

You all can't see this piling on ole Harvey is a smokescreen away from Hollywood & music industry's rampant pedophilia problem? Come on, wake up.

I'm not suggesting that I know the answer. But ask this question, is she leaving because she knows now? Or leaving because he's not at the top anymore.

Like I said, this is only the top of the iceberg.
I expect Harvey to do prison time.
