Is it okay to veto "Mom-mom" for a grandmother name?

I've never heard of Mom-mom. Why is it confusing to have two Grandmas, but not two Moms?? So bizarre. Tell her "Child already has a mom, no thank you" and suggest something else.

I called my grandmother mom-mom. Like someone else said, it's pronounced fast and doesn't sound at all like "mom."

Same here. Now my daughter calls my mother Mom-mom (though we pronounce it Mum-mum, and spell int Mom-Mom.

Thankfully, my wife isn't as ridiculous as OP (and many others on this thread).
