She did not change her sex; she changed her gender. Do you know the difference?

Evidently, the answer is no.

Why is it "disturbing" for children for someone to choose to be happier and true to themselves, while doing no harm to anyone? Do you not think it's more disturbing to suffer?

He/she (whatever gender this person is) can choose to be happier keeping a low profile. The big promotion is disgusting and disturbing for many families who have children.

Caitlyn's gender is "she," as a woman. There is no "he" or "he/she." She is a she. The ignorance by people like you over issues concerning gender/transgender/sexuality is disgusting and disturbing for many families who have children.

I think you can be tolerant of the way someone deals with their mental illness and still worry if that might be disturbing to children. It disturbs me and I think he should live however he wants.

Clearly you don't think she should live however she wants, since you're repeatedly denying acknowledging that "he" is in fact a she, now, and wishes to be acknowledges as 'She' going forward.

What if I want to live my life using he for someone I've known as Bruce Jenner for 30+ years?

Do you make it a regular habit of yours do define others for them? Because you think you're more right about their own lives and identity, than they are? If so, you probably have a lot of interpersonal problems that need help before you consider trying to define Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner against her wishes.

NP who has no issue with LGBT

Who became the pronoun police? Caitlyn is still a male. She can dress herself up all she wants, still a male. Males use "he" pronouns so some people will still use them. Not ignorant, not disgusting, not disturbing. Simple language. Differing opinion.

You can do whatever you want with your life but you cannot expect the world to grind to a halt and accommodate you.

Not defining for him, defining for myself. Yes I make it a regular habit to define things for myself. I don't think I am more right about someone elses life, just about mine. I don't have any interpersonal problems, but you clearly have a judging problem if you got that from the pp.

You realize that people like you who go behind others and "correct" pronoun usage do not educate people or make them more tolerant. It is irritating and likely makes them roll their eyes and say "whatever"

Seriously

Fixed:

I think they are/were both mentally ill. Lets just hope Jenner isn't also a pedophile on top of it like Jackson.

going through transgender surgery is different than being so addicted to plastic surgery that your cartilage starts disintegrating:

Both are a form of body dysmorphia.

They are completely different. Dysmorphia to describe gender issues was only recently adopted to the DSM to replace "disorder" which to disassociate it with having a mental illness.

Bruce is a man even after he removes his penis b/c he still must take hormones for the rest of his life to look like a female.

He may feel like a female inside, however. But mother nature will always battle him on the outside.

I thought he looked great when he posed in the rec car. But I'm sure he used quite a bit of his money to transform his body. I wouldn't wish that hell on anyone, to be honest.

You realize the "T" in LGBT stands for transgender, right? So actually you clearly do have an issue with LGBT and are very transphobic. You are not an ally.

For everyone on here saying that Caitlyn should keep a low profile, are you aware of the suicide rate among transgendered teens and adults? I'm no fan of the Kardashians but I do think it's good to see how supportive the family is of this change, whether they're just doing it for the camera or not

This is an excellent point! I'm a conservative with a live and let live attitude about type of thing. Jenner isn't hurting anyone, and is probably helping a lot of people cope.

NP. You could lipstick on a pig and then say it's a woman. Some might agree with you. Some West Virginians would be especially happy. The rest of us would say it's a pig. A woman is not a dude with lipstick. Bruce Jenner is and will always be male.

This is something that people need to think about. Do you have any idea how hard it must be to live your life feeling like you were born in the wrong body? I'm not talking about how I wish I was born with a smaller chest or a daintier nose. I'm pretty sure almost none of you know how it feels to live your life in a body that, on the outside, doesn't match what is on the inside. I don't even completely understand it, but I don't have to personally experience it to have compassion for someone who does live life with that struggle. Don't you think most trandgendered people have tried NOT to feel like something is wrong? Don't you realize this isn't something someone would choose? Caitlyn's struggle is not over, but at least now maybe she has found a little peace.

THIS!

This is the problem I have with people who suddenly "see the light" on social issues..........once it effects them or someone they care about. That's not empathy. Empathy is the bolded above. While it is not always the case, we've seen this among those who pander to a conservative (very) base in public office. They condemn some particular issue up, down and sideways, make it their work to block someone else's access to equal rights while it is politically prudent for them to do so, so that they may stay in office or whatever and then BAM, but wait, my dear nephew Jimmy just came out. But, but, but Jimmy is a good kid, he loves his parents, he loves baseball. All these people talking about bad gay people, they can't be talking about my dear boy Jimmy, they don't KNOW him. I know him. Maybe it is OK for all those other people to be able to have the legal protections of the union of marriage now because I see that it would be so hard on Jimmy to be discriminated against. I see the light now. Nevermind all the people I hurt along the way.

Of course I do and trust me I'm an ally.
