I fail to understand what the issue is. Is it that the staff does not like the personality or management style?
I am very suspicious of individuals who use words like "incompetent", "bully", "micro management" etc. to vilify someone. Because in such situations, the issue mostly is "dislike" towards individual in leadership position due to some "other" reason which these complaining individuals will never say it out loud. They will just use good old strategy of name calling and labeling those who they dislike.

We clearly didn’t read the same letter. I see specific, alarming allegations.

But I am a teacher who has worked with toxic administrators, so I suppose I know what I’m looking at when I read the teachers’ letter.

And PP is probably a toxic admin or a supervisor of toxic admin themselves, hence why they see nothing wrong with the accusations made in the letter.

MCPS just deleted a post here in under 3 minutes. Gotta keep the advertisers happy.

This post tells me all I need to know about the letter's advocates here.

LOL
17 pages of comments and you keep going with your hate for teachers.

MCPS has no interest in investigating these things because improving climate is simply not their expectation for principals. I do believe Taylor wants to improve this, but there is a lot of rot in a lot of director positions, more than the top chiefs that were told to reapply for their job.

MCAAP is a rotten union that defended it's underperforming members far beyond what is deserved, and holds a far greater influence than MCEA. People bash MCEA all the time for what they already push through, but it really is MCAAP that has a joke of an evaluation system, a ironclad grasp on negotiations, and a complete lack of accountability.

No substance just hearsay allegations

Anyone can make allegations.. do you want someone should be punished because some "motivated" individuals make allegations? This is america and people make allegarions all the time but hardly there is any truth to it.

No, I think the allegations should be taken very seriously and a thorough investigation should take place.

If she is innocent of all wrongdoing, then surely that will come out.

You do support a thorough investigation, correct? And you agree the teachers’ concerns should be taken seriously?

Yup! You nailed it.

But I'm not as willing as you to let the associate supes/chiefs off the hook for the horrible directors in OSSI. They are accountable for those directors and principals' horrible behavior and mismanagement.

For those of you saying a "thorough investigation" should be done, what gives you confidence that MCPS is capable of an objective, thorough and accurate investigation of Principal Valentine?

The only time we got a thorough investigation of an MCPS leader was when the BOE paid a law firm to do it and then the OIG followed-up.

MCPS's capacity for conducting credible internal investigations have proven to be inadequate repeatedly.

Any updates on the situation?

Are they also responsible for pressuring admin to cover up the sexual assault rape culture and traditions in the school system. Many teachers get fired when they try to help out students who were raped or assaulted in school. We are suppose to be mandatory reporters by law ,I believe, but we are coerces to break that rule by admin who work on another level which is against us not with us.

Yes, is OSSI is very active in coverup for the kinds of things you're talking about.

Teachers? I believe it. I’m so sorry if students are also experiencing the effects of this

Is there legal precedent for when kids get put in a violent situation and teachers are retaliated for reporting facts that keep your kids safe. Seems like the law was being broken by retaliating on teachers.

"Listening sessions" led by the people who have been overseeing said leader who bullies and intimidates people seems like a very foolish idea if you ask me.

Staff member here. 75+ staff signed up and participated in listening sessions set up by Central Office. They kept offering us additional sessions because they kept filling up. We are told next steps will come soon.
