Mine buys from Ulta.

Are these pointless boycotts still going on?

Yes, VERY effective.

I'd need to start shopping at Target to be able to boycott it.

People with more money than sense shop at Target.

what a strange statement...Target and Walmart trade the same customer base.

Our Target is much nicer, cleaner and in a better part of town. They also have more staff and a nicer customer base. Yes the over products are similar, but I’m happy to pay slightly more for a better shopping experience.

I was, too, but no longer. I won't go to Walmart either, though.

Where exactly do you suppose people are shopping instead of Target?

Walmart? Ownership supports and donates massively to Republicans.

Amazon? Bezos. ‘Nuff said.

The Target boycott is actively counterproductive—it’s literally giving more $ to Trump sycophants.

So stupid.

A log of us just aren’t shopping as much. Or Costco.

Target isn’t the only drugstore. Everything else can be purchased somewhere else including small businesses or online.

Honestly, I just shop at the grocery store. I typically went to Target for health and beauty products, and then I would browse through their home goods. Now I buy most things I need at the grocery store, beauty products directly from the seller (Clinique) and home goods at Wayfair.

I do the majority of my shopping at Costco, and have for probably 15 years, for price and quality. I still need to fill in with the grocery store and Target. Costco doesn’t sell the deodorant or shampoo we like. They don’t sell mascara. I’m not going to jump through some performative hoop, when Target has exactly what I need sometimes, but you do you.

We’ve started shopping at Walmart but not because of the boycot.

Walmart has really upped their game. Stores are bright and clean with a lot of staff around.

Target always seems to be understaffed. They don’t have as much stuff and are generally more expensive. Their self checkout lines are limited compared to the rows and rows at Walmart.

5 years ago we always shopped at Target to avoid the “people of Walmart.” Now, I see all types of SES at Walmart.

It’s a perfect storm against Target. Boycott and economic influences affecting people’s behavior.

I can't think of anything I need that's only available at Target, so I shop elsewhere, at places that treat their employees well and don't brag about ending DEI initiatives. I'm evidently not their target market.

I’ll be honest, I still miss Target but the bolded is what keeps me away. If corporate was feeling political pressure, they could have quietly phased out their initiatives - but no, Target used a bullhorn to announce where they stood. Sad to see them tumbling like this.

Honestly I have just been shopping less in general it’s easy to blame the boycott but I think it’s a lot of things. Unlike Walmart, most people don’t actually grocery shop at target, just grab a few things, where as Walmart is the actual grocery store for a lot of people. In an economic downturn Walmart will probably be able to persist much longer.

You must have an upscale Walmart. Our is will very low SES. We stock up once a year on cleaners/household products/OTC meds and get the hell out.
