Is the Target Boycott Really Effective?

Anonymous
Dear Lord.

They probably haven't even noticed some weirdos were boycotting them.

Just because you live in a bubble where everyone is doing the same thing, doesn't mean your group is a critical mass. That should be drilled into you when you start using social media!

Yes, VERY effective.

I've not been to Target since January (and I was a big time regular). I just needed the nudge to stop dropping cash there. And now I have it. It's nice to save all that cash or to funnel it to Costco and other progressive businesses.

I guess you can't read or maybe you missed the stories above about the impact the boycotts have had on Target's bottom line. Maybe get clue before you post stupid crap

I’ve been in Target once since January and used a giftcard so no new revenue for them. And every report that comes out that it’s working just re-fuels my commitment.

Apparently us weirdos who used to shop at Target have led to significant losses and now the right wing CEOs salary is halved from what is was pre January 20th.

And I'm not in a "group" or "bubble" as I am not a lemming. When a company says they don't like people who look like me (women etc...) or when they give to right wing campaigns who think I don't need to have rights, I don't have to shop there ever again.

+1 Target traffic is down consistently for 13 weeks. Free market at work!

I stopped shopping at Target when they "regretted" their Pride displays. This was more than a year ago.

I stopped in to Target after work last week to get a product that I can't find elsewhere in my town (and I'm boycotting Amazon too, so can't order it there), and I was surprised by how few shoppers there were in the store. In the past (a year ago), there are long lines, but most of the checkout counters were closed, and there were no lines anywhere.

YAAAAAAA!! I'm glad the boycott is working!! I hope it puts Target out of business. Shame on them.

I've been shopping more often at Costco. The store is packed every time I go there. I'm so glad. We should all shop there and support Costco, which has refused to dismantle their DEI program. Target could learn a thing or two from Costco.

Oh, they've noticed.

You been to a Target lately? Mine is looking worse than Walmart. I'm there at least 2-3 times a month to pick up prescriptions at the CVS inside Target. The store is messy and they have stock carts sat all over unattended and unpacked because corporate took away overnight stock hours. Stocking needs to be done by day associates, but there are so few day associates that almost all on-shift associates are having to pick curbside orders. Because the most important metric to Target Corp, aside from sales, is that Curbside orders get completed in the 2-hr window and then delivered to the person's car within 3 minutes of them confirming they've arrived. My store is a Super Target, so half is a proper grocery store and the other half is a regular Target store. It has a deli inside that hasn't been opened or had an employee working it for weeks. Last time I was in there it was 87 degrees outside and the store did not have its AC on at all. It was like an oven in there and they had the lights turned down very low.

My niece works at a different Target location in this area and she's not even getting 10 hours a week. She's looking for another job because 10 hrs/week has been ok while she's still in school, but summer break is coming up and she wants to work more hours to save more money. She was told not to expect more than 12 hours/week and possibly even less.

I couldn’t find a specific beverage elsewhere for a guest coming to town so I had to stop at target for the first time since January. I did a curbside order - they did the work for for me and i wasn’t tempted by any extras.

I’ve found a good groove with Costco trips between grocery store visits and i don't miss the convenience of Target anymore.

Y’all must not have teen daughters. They get all their cosmetic/beauty/hair stuff at Target. There isn’t really anywhere else - I’m not spending Sephora money on it.

I do have a teen daughter, but I’ve also taught her to not be a POS. The change in shopping location was pretty easy to explain.
