Senate races 2026

There needs to be a post-watergate style blue wave that touches the red and purple states and districts to obviate the GOP attempts to gerrymander and voter suppress their way to 2026 and 2028.

A little-known oyster farmer is looking to upend top Democrats’ plans in Maine.
Democrat Graham Platner, the 40-year-old owner of Waukeag Neck Oyster Co. and an Iraq and Afghanistan War veteran, announced Tuesday he is mounting a challenge to Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Platner has never run for office, and his campaign threatens to disrupt national Democrats’ efforts to recruit and unite around Gov. Janet Mills.

I support anybody that primaries sitting candidates. It pushes our elected officials to work harder and allows people to pivot as needed.

The sitting candidate is a Republican. Oyster guy is welcome to run as a D, but a past Governor or Maine seems like someone who would have good name recognition and a shot to unseat Teflon Susan Collins.

The nonpartisan Cook Political Report moved its rating of Ohio’s Senate race from likely Republican to lean Republican following former Sen. Sherrod Brown’s (D-Ohio) entrance into next year’s Senate race.

The former senator launched his comeback Senate bid Monday, pitting himself against incumbent Sen. John Husted (R). Husted was appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine (R) earlier this year after Vice President Vance vacated the seat to join the Trump administration.

I like and admire Sherrod Brown, but he is 73-years of age. Ohio Democratic Party has not groomed a late Gen X or Millennial to step up for the win.

I agree that the Ds need to build a bench, but in the absence of that, someone who the majority Republican voters of Ohio have liked and respected in the past is good enough for 2026.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Scholten is dropping out of Iowa's 2026 Senate race and endorsing Josh Turek.

Scholten, a state representative from Sioux City, was one of the first Democrats to jump into the race in early June against Republican U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst. He's the first Democrat to end his campaign, and his endorsement goes to his fellow state representative from Council Bluffs, who is the latest contender to enter the race.

Former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown lagged behind Republican Sen. Jon Husted in the first public poll since the Ohio Democrat launched his comeback bid, as Democrats face an uphill battle to reclaim the upper chamber next year.
Brown trailed behind the incumbent Republican by six points in a new Emerson College poll released Friday morning. Fifty percent of registered voters said they’d vote for Husted if the election took place today, while 44 percent expressed support for Brown. Seven percent of voters said they were yet undecided.

+1 Tim Ryan was a good candidate last time and I think he’s running for governor this time.

Good overview of 2026 Senate races. I wonder if Nebraska could be a sleeper close race. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/key-senate-contests-2026-elections/

Shame that blue has been experts at gerrymandering for the past 25 years. Now they want to cry about it.

All these "polls" and they're getting crushed in fundraising. Something isn't adding up.

Democrats are getting crushed in fundraising, with only $15M in the chest compared to Republicans’ $80M

We’re not crying. We’re fighting back. Prepare to be toppled over the next three years, MAGA scum.

Far more red states are gerrymandered than blue states. But you don't want to actually know the facts. You just want to complain about "the libs" even though you're lying.
