Shouldn’t you rely on ATC, not visual perception? |
Seriously! Sounds pretty effing awful. |
I remember him. What a hero. |
I've seen that it was a full flight, some 68-73 people on board. All lost. |
The tower told them to maintain a visual |
Sorry, to go on a tangent, but when would they typically announce that DCA will be closed all day tomorrow, or whatever.
Was supposed to be flying into DCA tomorrow. |
Let's say a prayer for their souls or take a moment to wish them peace. |
Not tonight. |
Yes but per the reddit discussion, the system, TCAS was shut off below 1000 feet. Not sure why, probably to prevent false alarms being so close to the airport. At that distance they are counting on ATC to keep everything apart. Somehow the copter either didn't see the plane or made some sort of speed error or something. |
Congress approved additional flights at DCA last year, over the protests of the locals. I hope they reduce the number now and enforce stricter regulations for all these helicopters. |
The ATC command was to fly behind the plane using visual perception. Very common on a clear day/night. |
The military just lied to us about drones. You are funny. No, I don't think the dead pilot will try to cover it up. lol I said: The Government. Not a pilot. |
Why does it matter how many flights are in/out? This has nothing to do with that. |
Nothing like NIMBYS trying to use an unrelated event (and a tragedy in this case) to support their selfishness. It’s like the purple line opponents latching on to some tiny amphibian or something like that. |
It’s very clear tonight. So many bright stars. |
